I've got 5 Ruger autos and a clean stainless (for a not-insane price) still eludes me.

 

I just p8cked this MkII Stainless up yesterday from my LGS after buying it from a friend in Tennessee. I had a MkI Standard Model in high school and college, but foolishly traded it off in the early 1980s. Its 'replacement' came with (2) mags for $329. I'm happy.

My kids "pre-inherited" my S&W .22 pistols, but they don't care for the Rugers. Those are all mine! 😁

 

Stainless mark pistols usually start at $400, so you got a very good deal. Congrats!

The short Standard mk2 is my favorite model.

A couple of cautions about your pistol...

Verify that you have a solid firing pin stop pin. Replace the pin if it's a hollow roll pin.

Keep an eye on the back of your bolt. It's a 2-piece bolt and sometimes the ears will separate and fall off.

Enjoy your new pistol! It's a great one that will provide many years of service.

 

I had one that had the hollow roll pin why would they do that?

 

Bet they figured it would stay put better being tighter as roll pins usually are.

Probably cheaper than a solid pin is what I was thinking definitely not a good idea
