Due to a person who shall remain nameless (a RFC member), that put me on the road (of financial ruin??) of 17HMR rifles, by finding me the Lithgow LA 101, I now have to maintain a 17HMR ammo inventory, as the herd of 17HMR rifles has grown to at least 6 rifles. As I live in NYS and the mere thought of ordering ammo on the net, is probably a serious violation, you have shoot the ammo that is locally available.

When I first got the Lithgow, being a huge CCI fan boy (still waiting for my t-shirt), I bought some CCI 17HMR TNT, 17gr ammo to start with, then proceeded to buy the LGS inventory out, after I started shooting. Then the supply dried up, I then shot the Remington and the Hornady brands, and either real or imagined differences appeared. They were dirtier, less consistent and a lot smokier and less accurate. Love the Lithgow !!!

I found the CCI 17 HMR TNT ammo at both Bass Pro Shop and Runnings, but was $4-$5 more per box. So I waited and had the CCI on order at the LGS. Welp, my order has arrived, I ordered 2000 rounds, they got 3000 rounds in, I ended up buying it all. Then immediately put another order in, it took about 2 months for this to come in, hopefully the new supply will arrive before I run out of this batch.

That my problem Jack and I just didn’t shoot mine enough to seek out someone to order it so I just wait and buy it when I find it. You’re lucky to be able to order it and get it so cheap per box. I’m stuck with baspro prices no matter where I go.

i “ and all that agreed” said Once you started shooting the 17 you would get addicted to its superb accuracy.

The big question is, how does the Lithgow shoot? I, too, love the 17HMR round. I've owned 6 guns in 17HMR, Anschutz (3), Bergara B14R, Sako FFII, and Ruger 77/17. Sold the Ruger and Sako. So far, nothing beats Anschutz. I have 2 1517MPRs and a 1517D. The Sako is comparable to the 1517D, but the bolt was sticky in spite of polishing it, so sold it. The Ruger was not in the same league as all my others. I looked into Lithgow, but found nothing.
