Well I'll be... It didn't come up when I did a search. I probably screwed up somehow. Thanks for setting me on the right track, Hawkeye 57th.

 

So, I read threw the threads in the link that Hawkeye57 had posted a link too, and the information is dated. As in the latest post was from 2020. All of the threads reference to 36gr hollow points manufactured in the Philippines. What I saw was 40gr Round Nose, and the box stated it was manufactured in Brazil. Does anyone have any recent experience or information on this ammo. I get that it is an Academy store branded product, but who is the current manufacturer, and is it any good? Thanks for your input.

bulk plinking ammo.

I bought a brick at Academy when 22 ammo was in short supply. I had no problems with it, it all fired, accuracy was as good or better than Auto Match or Blazers.
I would buy more to shoot in my Ruger Single-Six or Henry lever action.

 

I'm not familiar with Monarch ammo (in any caliber) and was wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with it,

Monarch is not a company, it is the brand name that Acadamy puts on ammo that is made for them. I've shot hundreds of rounds of their 9mm with no problems.

 

Yes it’s the Great Value equivalent of ammo, just a house brand. Different rounds/calibers can be made by different manufacturers. I have a few boxes of their .308 Win that I bought in 2017-2018 that are lacquered steel case, box is marked “Made in Russia”.

Cumberland Outdoorsman did it about a month ago.

Just enter "Monarch .22 lr" there. Should be easy to find.
