I am thinking about getting this .22 rifle .

What can you tell me about it ?
How is the quality ?
How is it's accuracy compared to an older 22" model 60 ?

The only negative thing that I have heard about it is , that it is very muzzle heavy .

I have the blued version. I love this rifle it was a great shooter right out of the box. The adjustable trigger is a great feature.

As for being muzzle heavy, that is in part due to the plastic stock that comes on the gun. I chose to change mine out to a wood (laminate) stock and now it has a very balanced feel to it. Also having the tube full of bullets gives more weight to the front end, that will be true with any tube fed .22

Good luck with whatever you choose to do, but rest assured these guns are very dependable, accurate, and best of all....affordable.

All the tube fed Marlins are very well balanced . I have owned a couple dozen in 22 lr and 22 magnum over many years . Nothing like a heavy barreled gun would feel . Accuracy can vary from one gun to another . Any that I have on hand shoot just as good as my model 60's or better . Yes I am a tube fed Marlin addict . Got a couple 39A's also .

The only thing I didn't like was the weight unbalance and I sold mine just for that reason. Super accurate with CCI Velocitor when I had it. I missed it. If I could come up with another $100 for Boyds stock I'd probably have kept it. For the price of the gun and new barrel though, you might want to look into buying a CZ455. I did and never looked back.

Love my 981T (similar but older version). I'm not a fan of carrying around mags and prefer the option of shooting LR/L/S(if you can find them).
The med-weight micro groove bbl is surprisingly accurate and a bit nose heavy but once you scope it….it balances nicely.
The adjustable trigger looks like a nice feature. I don't think you will regret getting one.
