im thinking of buying a marlin 780 bolt action .22 for plinking and maybe the odd gopher. so i can use it as a cheaper gun and not worry about friends/family using it rather than my more expensive guns.

are they any good? whats the accuracy like?
this is the one. $175 Canadian with the scope etc.

thanks

I have pretty much the same rifle and it is very accurate but when I was at an out door range I shot 50 yards with iron sights and I missed most of my shots to the target only a few hit I think it had to do with the fact I had no scope on it or I was a bad shot.
It a great and reliable rifle though and I will keep it for long time to come it was worth ever dollar I payed, it was $140 for me.
thanks for the reply, but you have contradicted yourself somewhat. how do you know its accurate if you couldnt hit the target?
