Light Primer Strikes

I have brand new M4-22 elite pistol.

I've only put 3 rounds through it (dumb luck they went off) because the firing pin is barely hitting the primer. The primer strikes are extremely light.
The ammo I tried running through it has been high velocity Federal and high velocity Aguila, but I don't think it's ammo related. I've removed the bolt carrier and inspected it and cleaned it but I don't see anything out of the ordinary wrong with it.

I haven't changed anything on the gun, minus installing a red dot. Came across Tippmanns video on youtube with trouble shooting light primer strikes. So I checked out my buffer tube, but it's threaded in exactly where it's supposed to be.

My local range has a Tippmann M4 rifle as a rental, it's a couple years old. The bolt carrier in that Tippmann has a black oxide finish and has subtle differences compared to mine. I was going to swap bolt carriers to see if it would make my gun ran, but I ran out of time and it might be a potential safety issue.

I'm open to suggestions on what to check.
