Knee Pads! What kind do you like?

I’ve got problems with my knees so I’m guessing knee pads would be a good thing to have for NRL22.
Lots of different kinds out there. Every brand says they’re the best but you know how that goes.
What do you use? What do you like about them?
Thank you

My knees do fine, even after 40 years as a bodyman. But I am looking for some just to save my jeans, our NRL 22 range is covered and has a concrete pad, nice setup but I wear the heck out of my jeans knees in one match..

One of the guys I shot with last time had the green harbor Frieght ones. I think they are pretty economical.

I use them a lot when shooting PRS stages. I started with cheap, borrowed ones and found they easily shifted/ rotated- making them worthless for the rest of the stage. Now, I've bought a pair ($15 +/-) that have two Velcro straps on each pad- one above and one below the kneecap. They stay in place and feel really comfortable. Also, if using over your long pants, pull the cuffs down tight after putting on the pads to further minimize shifting.

I haven't tried the ArcTeryx type yet, but anything I've tried with straps don't work very well for me. They always wind up shifting at the wrong time and I have to dig brass out of my knee. I've been using the slip-on volley ball style lately and they are working great. I have some thin ones that I wear under pants and some thicker ones that I wear with shorts. The ones in Tortugas link look pretty good, I'll try a pair of those and see how they do.

I also have had knee problems for over 40 years, and I hate all the knee pads I've tried! Some aren't bad to kneel with, but the straps give my legs a rash from rubbing on the back of my legs after a day of using them.
I went to using a mechanic's kneeling pad you just toss on the ground and kneel on. It requires me to lay it down, and move it when I move, but they're so much more comfortable to use. I've got three of them to use around home and if I'm kneeling at the range! Always have one close if I need to grab one at anyplace I'm working.

I wear 5.11 Tac-Lite pants with built-in knee pad pockets. Then I order 1/2" marine neoprene and cut the pad 1/2" smaller height and width of the pocket. Been using this combo for work and shooting. I can drop down on gravel and be just fine. Also since it's neoprene, no need to remove when you wash.
