I just bought a 82g. It came with two sets of factory peep sights. Both sights seem like they are in great shape. But they both are missing detent ball and one spring for the elevation adjustment knob. Any one know anywhere that works on sights that could go through these or maybe have parts thank you.

Some hardware stores like Ace or Do It Best sell individual ball bearings.
Small springs are in all sorts of disposable items like Bic lighters or ink pens.

Since both are so small in this application finding the right size could be a challenge.

Disassemble one of your windage sights to get the measurements.

Good luck!

Ive had sights with such pronounced clicks thet were not nice to use, I prefer those with mild clicks especially for the knobs that tend to get the most adjusting. I have to wonder if those detents were removed for a reason?

On my last visit to the CMP in Anniston, they had a box of loose sights. Most were Redfields but there were a few from Kimbers. I recall seeing a Kimber sight that had the attachment base broken off. You may want to call them and see if you could purchase a distressed sight for parts (provided they still have any left in stock).

Also for your consideration, I picked up two Redfield Palmas that were missing detent balls on elevation. I used my small Allen wrenches as gauges to estimate the diameter of the missing detent balls. With this info, I went to McMaster-Carr and found that they stock small ball bearings of the needed diameter. I had to order a package of 100 at ~$8, but they worked great.

Good luck
