Hi guys, I just came across a vintage Sears 22Lr , JC Hig's 30
I think this one is from the late 50's, I believe that they were made by High Standard
very impressed on the quality of the units.
this one has the integral sling, very sweet!
I was shooting CCI Velocitors and very impress with the grouping, cycles very good
it is a bit different to have the charging handle on the left side I must say
the target below is at 35 yards
Highly recommended

Thats a beautiful find and yes made by High Standard for Sears. They are quality made guns from back in the day. I picked up a model 29 earlier this year in excellant condition. My model doesnt have the sling coiled inside the stock and the charging handle is on the right side.🙁 But still a beauty. Theres a video online by M&P productions and his collection of these rifles, I think he has 5 and all different models. Check it out.

Nice gun. I have the model 31 jc higgins. And yes they were made by high standard. I also wouldn't shoot velocitors in it. Mine is also really accurate with cci standard vel or mini mags.
I have model 31 as well and it is great with standard ammo and high vel. but this one is different, enjoy the great outdoors guys

Velocities are quite powerful and may have slightly longer cases. If it were my rifle I would try and find something regarding using them in this rifle. The main concern is the blowback force on the receiver. Again don't know anything about these rifles but nice as that one is I would hate to see it damaged.

There are four versions of the MODEL 30 if you don't count the various patent roll marks. Only the last version had the charging lever on the right side. The Model 30 was introduced about early 1950 and the last left hand charging lever version ended in early 1953. They were designed and manufactured by High Standard for Sears.

There has been a model 30 on GB for months now with the short forearm wood and what appears to be an aluminum spacer between the buttstock and pad. it also has the original scope and RED scope caps. Contacted the fellow asking questions but he was not particularly informative so forgot about it.
