Gotta give a shout out to BH PHOTO. Been looking for a scope mount for this pistol. Seems to out of stock everywhere with no expected delivery dates. Ordered from BH, they special ordered it and it was shipped from mfg. Had it in less then 2 weeks.

B-Square used to make the 17900 scope mount for the IZH-46 and 46M but discontinued the part some time ago. Thankfully Sun Optics still makes the SM7900 but they are a little scarce. Their web site lists where to find them. BH Photo has the best price at present at $24.95. Thanks for the tip ford8nr! What year is your Izzy?

Both can be found on ebay occasionally in the $20-30 range.

As you can see I have shortened mine to remove a little weight. Also notched out the sides so I could move the Dot closer to my eye. Removed the front and rear sights to shave more weight. Balances a little better now, still a little nose heavy but I like that. The trigger is excellent, have mine set at 6 oz! Deadly accurate as well.

IZH 46M Availability

This is all great news for the scope mount. I've been searching the internet for a week to locate one. Thanks

Now the more pressing question! Where can I find the gun to mount the scope. I've been all over the internet trying to find one to buy.

Yes there is one for sale on Guns America for $700 and Gun Broker has a few listings for $750, but that's about two hundred more than the last two sold for on EBay. I can't justify paying that much of a premium. I found a page offering one for $600 at Air Gun Warehouse in Texas, but I think that one is a mirage because calling the listed telephone number connected me to some type of insurance poll?

Any ideas or leads available.

But Air Venturi is now importing them under AV-46M model with laminated grip. Price is a little high at $599 but appears to be the samo samo...Manufactured by Alpha Precision in Russia

We have our Izzy, bought from a forum friend five years, ago, now. I feel for you on the availability. The supply on these guns has been tough for years, now. Hate to say it, but if you want an Izzy, that $700 is something you might want to reconsider. There's been a huge run and backlog on all things airguns with this pandemic. Don't see that changing anytime, soon, all the more so with a gun like the Izzy, which was hard to get, even before the pandemic.

Honestly, I get at least as much fun with my scoped 717 as I do with my identically-configured IZH (mostly because I'm not afraid to knock about the woods with the 717).
Yes I know it isn't as accurate - but I'm still the weak link. :p

If I couldn't find an affordable Izzy, I'd look for an also-discontinued 747 (w/ the better bbl) so I could spend more time shooting & less time looking.

Just my 177 cents,

Got one, I mean two...

Enough time has passed that this issued has been resolved. I found an IZH 46M with Corcoran grips for a good price and then bought one of the first Air Venturi models when they came out. So, it appears I have that covered.

The scope mount, of course, is another matter. Still waiting for the one ordered in December but have been told they should be arriving "soon". Sun optics has ordered 3,000 units and has over 1,800 back orders. With the shipping and pandemic woes they may be a little slow getting here. But with that demand I think they will be available at some point.

Mine is supposed to be here on July 31st. Going to mount it on a Daisy 717. Looking to the brethren for red-dot sight suggestions. Want a small (2-min or so?) dot. Can't see the sights anymore with any precision:(. I'm planning to use this rig for backyard chipmunk control, the buggers are drilling holes all over the place! One final question, does the Daisy have adequate power for close-up shots (maybe 20ft or less) to dispatch these little devils humanely? Pellet recommendations?

I use an AT3 Tactical, 2 MOA red dot on one of my IZH pistols, and a scope on the other.
The AT3 Tactical is $99 from them or Amazon, it's light, easy to operate, works great for my old eyes and it has a lifetime guarantee. What's not to like?
This is my 4th sight from them. I have one on my Browning Buckmark Silhouette pistol also. That one's the red dot with green laser. The laser's a hoot for plinking!

Here's an older pic of my two Izzys, one with the red dot, and the other with open sights before I gave up on that and went with a scope.

ford8nr and Gwelo--- Apologies for taking the thread off-topic a bit, but regarding the fitment of the mount: Does the bottom of the mount actually contact the compression tube on your Izzy's? I just installed one of the 7900 mounts on my Daisy 717, and had to do some machining on it to better fit the Daisy (see my posts on this). Basically what I would like to know: is the bottom of the mount designed to physically contact the top of the compression tube, or is there ANY "daylight" between the mount and the tube (even a few thousandths) when mounted up on the Izzy? Can you, say, pass a piece of paper between the bottom of the mount (either side) and the tube, or is it TIGHT to the tube?

ford8nr: Thanks for that response and the pic. So no gap at all present on either side where it contacts the tube on the Izzy? I was thinking (afraid:() that was going to be the case. If you happened to read my posts regarding fitment of this mount to my Daisy 717, I got a little impatient when "final fitting" (by cut/try filing) the bottom "ears" of the mount to the tube on the Daisy and I removed a tad too much metal. As a result, only the barrel clamp is securing it. It does seem to be well secured in spite of this, although I know it would be preferable to have some contact of the mount's bottom ears to the compression tube, to further stabilize the mount. If mine starts to show any sign of movement, I do have another new mount on the shelf;)...

If you can do so, can you take a straight-on pic of the Izzy, with the muzzle "looking" more or less straight on towards you? I'm interested if the sides of the mount are approximately vertical with the mount installed. As I mentioned in my previous posts, the out of the box fitment on my Daisy was not good, mainly because the Daisy's barrel diameter is larger at .437" diameter. This caused a rather questionable barrel clamping, and also caused the sides of the mount to be splayed rather widely at the bottom.
