I have a MKIV 22/45 that I love. It's mostly stock save for a Tandemkross Halo and Hive grips (all stock internals). I shot a friend's Black Mamba the other day and it was like stepping into a GT3RS after driving a Civic...
Having looked at other threads on here of people asking the same question, the consensus is if you have the money, buy the Black Mamba, which is likely what I'll do. .22 is my favorite caliber and I find myself wanting to explore the higher end side of the caliber.
The parts I'd be looking to replace are the upper, accurizing kit, and bolt. About $900-$1000 from what I can tell. A Black Mamba 4.5" looks to be around $1300-1400 out the door. If I went this route, I'd probably sell my 22/45 and get back $400, maybe a little more. From a financial standpoint (not important), it's pretty even. The only difference being I'd have a spare upper and bolt/parts by upgrading.
Is there any reason to not buy a Mamba and instead upgrade my 22/45? If anybody has gone one or both routes, I'd be curious to know your thoughts. Thanks!
