Is Kinetic Research releasing a 10/22 stock?

I just saw a post on Facebook about Kinetic Research releasing a 10/22 Bravo series stock. It isn't listed on KRG's website. Has anyone else heard or seen anything? The pic I saw was a graphic, not an actual pic. It may be a pre- Shot Show fluke.

I sent an e-mail to KRG about the 10/22 Bravo relase date and any additional information.

This is the response I received back ,
"We are still in development and are shooting for a late fall release. I currently have no further info.
Thank you,
KRG"
Honestly in the gun world hitting the same calendar year is considered on time, and that's in a normal year. For a chassis it's not near as ugly as most might be fun for a heavy whistle pig slayer...

LOP

The video I saw from Shot Show 2020 indicated a shorter stock than the standard Bravo. He stated it was to accommodate the "younger" shooter since it was "just" a 22. All the pictures and videos I've seen back this up. The rep stated the stock can be lengthened with the spacers though. The way I see it, if I need two spacers on a standard bravo, how many more on a shorter version to fit the 10/22 I'm building. Another concern I'm seeing is where will the cheek weld fit. For those who plan to use this for a smaller stature shooter I think this will be a perfect solution. If your excited to use it on an average sized adult you better look at those specs real close.
I really hoped this new KRG would be the stock I was looking for, but I'm not building a cut down kids version for NRL22 even though it's "just" a 22.

The short LOP makes no sense. All of their other rimfire chassis have a standard LOP. Hopefully they realized that and that is what is behind the delayed release.

Just emailed KRG to see if there was any updates on the 1022 Bravo. They are still saying fall release (isn’t it fall now). Unfortunately they’re sticking with the shorter LOP. This is the response I got.

“The minimum LOP is shorter, but it does not change the cheekpiece position.
-KRG”

I’m not buying into they’re cheek weld theory. Too bad, I think they’ll loose out on a lot of sales. The 1022 arguably being the most prolific and modified Rimfire in the world. With only a little help this system can introduce a whole new population to precision Rimfire sports.

Today, I contacted the KRG about time frame for 10/22 chassis and if it would be possible to replace short LOP stock with regular LOP Bravo buttstock. Here are the answers:

"We hope to have them available by the end of November. The LOP will be shorter, but it will not effect the cheekpiece placement. If you need a longer LOP it will be adjustable via spacers. The 10/22 is a one piece design (found and backend) so the standard Bravo back will not be compatible.

Thank you,

KRG"

Unfortunately, it would be a hard no for me, I use 3 spacers on my Bravo stocks. I don't plan to add 5 or 6 spacers to make 10/22 chassis work, the contraption will look stupid. Too bad I was looking forward to buying one.

I have two Tikka T1x KRG Bravo stocks and love them. I'd buy one for my Lilja barreled KIDD also if they made a standard LOP version. I think they made a major mistake with the reduced LOP and I told them so, but they don't appear interested in listening. Announcing them in January and not having them available until almost a year later is a fumble as well. Hopefully they get the message that the people that are buying their stocks are not kids and offer an adult-sized 10/22 stock. They got everything so right with their other stocks, but got it so wrong this time.

I too think the shorter LOP is a bad idea, glad I didn't wait for one. I use the height adjustable buttpad and 1 spacer on my full size Bravos, probably the equivalent of 2-3 standard spacers.

They are supposed to be releasing a polymer adjustable LOP mechanism as well though, maybe this is the answer instead of stacking a bunch of spacers.

A shooter may be able to use the adj. LOP but you have to take into account if the shortened cheek weld mechanism will fit your specific need. When I spoke with they're rep he claimed the shortened cheek weld wouldn't effect the shooter. I'm so skeptical that I don't plan to order one in the near future.

I'm thinking it has more to do with a manufacturing problem related to it being a single piece stock instead of a two piece like their other rimfire stocks and it is just a BS marketing approach to cover it up. Otherwise, why wouldn't all their other "just rimfire" stocks have a short LOP? I was a dedicated hard core fan of the Bravo T1x stock, but they have lost me. Good luck if you are listening. I won't be coming back. Do you really think the market for these stocks are 12 year olds saving up their lunch money? Fire your marketing manager before it is too late.

I also did not see anything about being compatible with KIDD rear tang. They talked about it with the prototype, but nothing listing on the new webpage. It does so "We will be adding a list of compatible 3rd party receivers in the future". So hopefully it will be listed there. I can deal with the LOP and spacers, but not taking a KIDD rear tang is a deal breaker.

IMO the quality of their products is not in question. I have two of their Bravo stocks for my Tikka rifles and they are excellent. It seems they really missed the mark on the design for their 10/22 stock however. And yes...if it does not accomodate the KIDD rear anchor, that will be another serious design flaw.
