I just installed a Williams WGRS 54 receiver rail-fitted peep to one of my 9422s.
I bought the sight, new in the box from a fellow on GunBroker for less than half price.
I had read many posts on this and other sites about various peep systems. I have a Skinner on another 9422. I may put a 2.5 fixed Leupold on a 9422M Classic. Maybe I'll just go with the buckhorn originals on that one.
I expected to do some fitting to make the Williams work on the rifle. That was an understatement! I had to spend about an hour with tiny files and going back and forth from filing to the rifle. Finally, got it to fit. Pretty snug so I hope I haven't marred the rails too much? I wasn't sure I was going to get there without ruining the sight. But all turned out fine.
I like the looks and the sight picture. Now, when I get set up to shoot I'll find out how much, if any my front sight has to be raised (new front sight I suppose). Hope I get lucky and none.
By the way, I didn't have to remove the buckhorn rear sights on either the Skinner-fitted or Williams-fitted rifles.
