My son challenged me and about 5 other guys to see who can build arh most accurate 10-22. He hasn't decided when the limits are except it has to stay under $1000. So I am here to learn. Thanks

wecome to the best 10/22 site on the web.

Take his bet and double down and tell him you can do it under $300 not including the factory ruger or scope!

The best bang for the buck In this bet “ don’t include scope, right? “ buy the 10/22 that floats your boat and send it to Connecticut precision chambering for the works. Bet him you can do it under $500 after you buy the stuck ruger 1/22/from someone like buds gun shop online.
$500 for the rifle and $250 for the werks “ I’m guessing with out looking at his web site “ so not including the base rifle you will have the most accurate 10/22 for under $500

Practice with cci standard velocity or SK if you can find any…… after you get it back from cpc practice a little with some lapua the go whip his but at the gun range.

Ok
This what I am thinking.
I am going to do a trigger job.
I am going to true the bolt.
A green mountain barrel 24 inch
For the stock at one Boyd stock.
Ok tell me what you think
I'd rather see you know what the mods will do vs tossing money at a rifle with no benefit.

There's ZERO proof a 'better' bolt will matter, there's a 50/50 chance the barrel won't shoot. Again, send the rifle as it sits to CPC. There's proof that works.

Read these three threads on stock 10/22 builds. I spent many thousands trying to disprove (and I did) what matters and what doesn't.

Here's the LVT I told you to buy after a CPC Tune

A stock 10/22 can be a very good shooter as the last post illustrates. Don't toss money away in hopes of a better rifle. Send it to CPC... You'll get it all done or do a halfway and put in a kidd or vq or Brimstone trigger...

Does not matter if he sends here or not... Interesting subject! I had these competition wars before...
Mostly it's against a brother-in-law with a CZ that needs a beating... Yes, many happy results with
either matching the CZ or slightly beating the offending brother-in-law....
Best to start with a good barrel... A newer blue 18.5" carbine with open sights or a blue 20" LVT is
better than any 16" or 24" barrel and no 10/22 carbine barrels without open sights... Blue would be better choice
than stainless... Barrel is best if made less than 10 years ago... Bull barrels are out of date, PASSE...
If someone is offended by above note, - I see over 200 barrels a year since 1994...
