How much should Wolf Target .22LR cost?

My LGS is getting a bunch of ammo in this coming week and it includes some .22LR ammo but it is going to be match/target grade ammo. He said it's going to be "Wolf Target" and maybe some "SK" too. I think it will be mostly Wolf. I am thinking about buying maybe a couple boxes or possibly even a brick. I have a Colt M4-22 and while I do mostly plinking/hunting I would like to do a bit of shooting for accuracy to see what the rifle and I can do. I just wanted to ask you all what the average price for this ammo would be. It doesn't really matter what "pre-panic" prices were because prices won't be at that level now. And from what I understand the target/match ammo hasn't gone up as much in price as bulk ammo has. I would like "per box" and "per brick prices". I mainly want to know about what the price will be (this LGS doesn't gouge people/me) so I can decide ahead of time if I want to buy a couple boxes or a brick of it.

I think I have seen on here (RFC) that the Wolf Target ammo is good ammo but if it's not please let me know. Also I (remember I am kind of a noob about ammo types) have heard that Wolf ammo is maybe corrosive or something like that? I'm really not sure about this and may be completely wrong so please inform me if I am wrong.

Short versions:
1. What is the current average price for Wolf Target .22LR ammo? Per box & per brick.
2. Is Wolf Target a good ammo?
3. Is Wolf ammo corrosive?

Just wanna say in advance, I LOVE RFC! In 9 minutes I had the answer. :D

Thank you. I was hoping it would be around that price.

The prices shown above are pretty right on. That's about what it was pre-panic, and still are now. Last week I got some SK std+ for $55/brick, which is decent, and if I had checked my e-mail a couple of hours earlier today, could have had a case of Wolf MT for $485.

Wolf MT and SK std+ are essentially the same thing in a different box. It's all made by Lapua in Germany at the same factory, and shoots really good in my rifles! :t Don't know what kind of rifle you have, cause this stuff is standard vel, not high velocity and may or may not cycle the bolt on a semi.

If you haven't tried Wolf or SK yet, you've been missing out on some good medicine.

Good shooting to ya!

Thanks, I didn't know that Wolf and SK were the same. The LGS owner did mention that SK was from Lapua but didn't say that Wolf was. I do have a semi-auto, but the spring is adjustable so I might have to turn it down all the way. I know it won't cycle subsonics even turned down all the way. :(

Before joining RFC I only shot bulk ammo, but I think I'm beginning to catch RFCitis.

Wolf rimfire ammo not made by Russians but by Lapua/SK in Germany. Non-corrosive and very good precision ammo.

$50-60 per brick is the going rate, $485 for a case, by the box $5.50-$6.00.
Thank you.

I think if he has it for around $60 a brick I'll get at least one. If it's $50 I'll probably get two. I don't expect to shoot it a whole lot so even 500 rounds should last me a long time.

Thanks again everyone. If others have anything to add, feel free. :bthumb:

edit: just re-read the original post.. Colt rifle..okay. If you ever successfully shot any standard velocity ammo with it, you should have no problems with Wolves or SK :)

Just caught your edit, I haven't ever shot standard velocity with it, but CCI Quiet (710 FPS) wouldn't cycle it even with the spring turned down all the way. Do you think I will have a problem with SV? I'm not sure what velocity is considered "standard".

I would advise you get on the Colt board here and ask if most SV ammo will cycle in your gun.

Wolf MT/ST Std+ are supposed to be 1,070-1,080fps, but when I shot a few SK Std+ through my Chronograph I got some as low as 1,040-1,050fps. Highest was about 1067fps I believe. I will see if I can find the paper I wrote it on.

I checked around online (because everything online is true) and most of the places I saw people were saying that standard velocity will work with some tuning of the spring. I think I will get at least one brick of it (if the price is right) and if it just won't cycle at all then I'll shoot the rest if it through a different .22 that isn't semi-auto. If it does cycle perfectly then I'll maybe pick up another brick. I don't expect the ammo to go very fast and I think he is getting a pallet of it so it should last at least a week. :p

Thanks again.

Counting my friends and daughter's rifles and mine I have built about 10-12 SuperStock 10/22 and SK/Wolf functions fine in all of them. It functions fine in my T/C Classic. It functions fine in my recently passed friend's Rem 552. Fine in 5 Ruger MKII/MKI pistols. Fine in Colt Woodsman and 2 Woodsman Match. Fine in several Hi Standard pistols of variouis types.

It even ran decently in a Win 290 and THAT is saying something:D:bthumb:

In short if it does not work in your semi look at the rifle not the ammo.

Well looks like the order is going to be in a lot later then he thought. He's really not sure when it will be. A couple weeks at least. He will have some CCI .22LR 40GR sub-sonic in next week but I'm really not interested in that. So I guess I'm going to buy some .22 short for my other gun in the meantime.
