I say La-poo-a
I just watched a Ron Spomer video and he said Lap-wa.
So, what's correct?
Or are we both wrong? Haha

Listened to the video and yea, la-poo-ah isn’t quite right. Bet I can’t change though.

This video is Jack Neary one of the shooters for Lapua. He should know, but Kevin Nevius who shoots for Lapua pronounces it a slightly different. Both pronounce it with just two syllables and both a’s are a short a. (i.e. Ah, I see now.) So, it’s either Lap-wa or La-pwa. Probably La-pwa...

Close, but more correctly it is "AH dee das". I worked for a subsidiary of the company for ten years and it was still hard to say it correctly, and if I used it outside of work here in California nobody knew what I was talking about! The name comes from the company founder, Adolph (Adi) Dassler, so the correct pronunciation totally makes sense.

I remember the first time I heard someone talking about his M1 "Guh-rand", I thought he was saying "Grand" since I didn't know anything about the rifles at the time. The more correct pronunciation "Gair-und" would help avoid that confusion, but everyone I know in my local shooting world says "Guh-rand". Seems like I read once that John C. gave up trying to get people to pronounce it the "correct" way and just lived with it.

It doesn’t matter, European dialects are so vast and different that each culture says it differently. Just like Porsche or race car driver Michael Schumacher. Even Michael says his own first name differently
