Aside from the rear sight and brass colored receiver, what's the difference in these two rifles? Is there anything that actually makes the Golden Boy worth $70 more than the other? Looking for a lever gun, and can't see paying more for "flash" if there's really no difference in accuracy or reliability. Thanks for any insight you folks can provide.

The most commonly noticed difference is the stock drop. The H004 Golden Boy has a steeper drop angle on the stock, which a lot of folks don't find comfortable. That's the main difference, beyond that, you'd need to ask the guys here who have both. I've got a H001T Frontier, and I love mine. I personally don't like the brass colored receiver, but that's just me. So far as accuracy and reliability, I don't think anyone would disagree that they're just exactly the same. :bthumb:

Hey Tom,

IMO,, The Golden Boy is for those that like "Bling". It's only Brass Plate. I long ago established my dislike for BrassPlateing. However the ButtPlate,, may be Solid Brass,, other's will have to verify that or not.

The GoldenBoy takes a Special Scope Mount,, it's a weird looking contraption,, that requires removeing the Rear Sight, to get to the Mounting Screw Holes.

And as Mentioned The Golden Boy has a Steeper ButtStock Drop Angle. If you want a Blinged Wall Hangar Conversation Piece,, get the Golden Boy.

The H001T has the Top of The Receiver Grooved on each side for mounting a Scope or Peep Sight. I don't like scope's but may put a peep on mine,, however I like the stock Marble Semi Buckhorn Iron's just fine.

I've had my Frontier for about a year now,, with way over a 1000 rounds ~ Feeds, Fire's, Extracts, & Ejects no problems.

Action is Smooth,, Trigger is close to 3lbs,, maybe less. Length, weight, & Balance are about perfect for me,, actually more comfortable to shoot than my Marlin 39A,, but doesn't have Swivels like the 39A.

Most say that the Receiver is Painted,, although Henry told me that it is Powder Coated. Whatever it is,, it has held up just fine on mine.

Personally I think that I made the best choice in the Henry LineUp with the Frontier T,

The brass and the stock drop is a nod to the original Henry and Winchester Yellow Boy rifles. I love the looks of mine and so does everyone else when i take it to the range. I also like the looks of the crescent brass buttplate. And, IIRC the receiver cover is cast "Brasslite", a brass alloy.

Tom_M....

I love the Golden Boy (though I don't own one yet) and my Big Boy (with the solid Brass receiver) is my favorite centerfire.

But unless the golden boy reaches out and grabs you by the "short-n-curlies" then get the "T"! Mine is my favorite rimfire. Right now, my CZ 452 FS is my squirrel gun but only because it has a scope on it and I can't bare to put a scope on my "T". This year I will probably buy a 2cond "T" and put a scope on it. When I do, my CZ is going to be seriously ****ed!!!

Tom,

Both CTD & Bud's have been out of them. Bud's just got them back in Stock.

The Frontier's are Gainin in Popularity seems like.

I got mine from Bud's too,, before CTD started selling firearms.

You'll sure have something to look forward to. All went well with my Transaction through them,, so hope all goes well with yours as well.

It was a Very Special Feeling to First Open that Box,, and See a Brand Spanking New Octagon Barrelled Gun,, or it was for me at least,
