H001 vs. H001T pros & cons

I'm getting ready to buy either an H001 or H001T and I was wondering if anyone could please share some of their experiences regarding the following:

As far as balance goes, is the H001T significantly more nose heavy than the H001?

With the longer magazine tube do you find that there are more cartridges getting hung up in the tube with the H001T?

Since I'm going to use a red dot does it really matter if the front sight is plastic on the H001?

Is the action equally smooth on both models?

Any thoughts on inherent accuracy between the two models?

Thanks,

George

The H001T has better balance for me, but they both handle well.

I do not get cartridges hung up in mine. And why would one magazine tube being longer make more hang up?

Since your using a Red Dot, it does not matter at all which you choose other than you have to choose the one that YOU like best, not us. Which ever one draws your eye to it more should be the one you pick.

Both actions are equally smooth because both actions are the same exact action. Just the barrel is different.

Both are equally accurate. The one you hold the steadiest will be the one that shoots the best for YOU.

Lets take these one at a time.
First, as long as you clean the mag tube once and a while, you will have no hangups. Just run a mop up and down the tube with a bit of solvent now and again and you should have no problems at all.
Both actions are identical and both are very smooth.
I own both models and do not consider the H001T to be nose heavy at all. I think it balances just fine, but it does weigh a bit more.
There is no issue with the H001 front sight being plastic. The problem is the front sight is a molded part of the front barrel band. If you decide you would prefer a different front sight (taller, fiber optic, different shape etc...) you can't easily make the change without considerable work. The H001T has the front sight set in a regular 3/8ths dovetail that can be changed out in just a few minutes.
My personal favorite is the H001T. I am primarily a hunter and plinker and not a bench shooter. You will have to decide what rifle fits you and your needs. If you are worried about the weight, I would recommend you find a gunshop and shoulder them both before you decide. I get better accuracy from my H001T but, not because the rifle is more accurate than the other. I just have much better sights on my "T" and because of that, I get better results.

Thanks guys for the prompt replies! The reason I mentioned the tube length is that I had read a comment in an older post about someone having a feeding problem that the OP thought had something to do with the longer tube. Same with another comment about the "T" model balancing with a more forward bias.

I do understand that only I can determine which one better suits my needs but I always like to get feedback to compare with my own experiences. I'm going to make some calls next week to see if there is a store nearby that might have both models in stock.

I'm a lever action fan and I thought the Henry might make a nice companion to my Marlin 1894.

Thanks again very much,

George
