Estate time is looming.....ugh!!! I will decline participation......!!!!!

However, reality must be addressed. I am in the process of tagging everything for Donna's benefit. She is familiar with most of the machine guns, but not so with the .22's. Infact, I didn't even know this gun existed until this morning. I took it down from a high place on a display wall to change the existing tag. I am surprised at the Like-New condition. I see another advertised elsewhere also in LN condition.

Anyone have some historic insight on these??? Were these guns not used???

I had a leatherneck of similar quality it was beautiful. They are fun rifles, accurate and an interesting trainer. I sold mine so I could buy a Reising Model 65 Leatherneck. I hope to hear more about this collection though sounds like the collector knew what they were doing!

I am sorting through stuff to sell. Donna is against selling anything........she has 4 grandsons. Today's kids are not interested in guns like they were when I was a child. All we could think about in the 1940's & 50s was getting a hunting gun. That seems to be all gone now. I saw a recent statistic where more & more women are buying 'carry' guns, while less and less men are getting any kind of gun????

I am sorting through this stuff with an eye to selling some anyway........ how many guns can 4 disinterested grandkids need???

You need to get them interested in TARGET SHOOTING

If those kids haven't been coming around regular to shoot with you they aren't interested in guns. One of the saddest things I see is when some 'kid' comes by with 'gramps' gun(s) to sell

'......interested in target shooting......' They have been here several times. Their mother wants them to shoot.....they have shot just about everytime (maybe 4??) they have visited from Tampa (we are in Ohio)......a logistical problem. She hovers over them and is more than a bit domineering...... She is better now than I remember her being, but still a bit too much. Two of them tended to like the .22 'pumps'....we have several. Very casual targets, spray paint cans, etc., when you hit them, they jump. One 14 yr and one 12 year old stayed with it, the other two, 14 and 10 wandered off to the pond. Dad is there, shoots, but doesnt seem enthusiastic about anything. They shot 9mm bipod submachine guns off the shooting table, but tended to like the .22s better. As you may surmise, I have spent very little time with them, doesnt look like I ever will.

My Grandson is 42....he is an establised, well informed, enthusiastic collector/shooter. I will give him more than a few; cased S&Ws, mil. 45's, Garands/1903s, Thompsons, MG 08, K-98, and an MG 42.....

Well, if his safe(s) run out of room , mine may already be but I have a whole few room to use.

Sorry to hear that they aren't enjoying it as much as I probably would have at that age.
