H&R 5200 Sporter??

Many, many years ago, in some now forgotten publication, I read a short notice that H&R was then about to bring out a sporting model in .22LR, based on the 5200 target rifle action. I even remember seeing a picture of said rifle, so sleek and graceful, with beautiful flowing lines...so now, years later, I wonder about that rifle, much as a man wonders about some beautiful girl he once knew years ago. Did H&R ever produce the 5200 Sporter? Was it no more than a picture in a catalog, and never a production piece? Anyone familiar with the story of the 5200 Sporter?

I have a model 5200 target rifle.

I have a model 12 H @ R target rifle, also a model 5200 H @ R target rifle. Seems the only difference is the civilian model is marked 5200, and has a Walnut stock. The model twelve is a beech stock.

I lusted after that sporter for years, but never came across one.

I have not seen a picture of the whole rifle other than catalog posted pics. Why the " Mystery" ?

Show us some current pictures of the whole rifle and stop being such a tease.

Do you only have the stock?
gr8guns,

This is the best I can do on the photos for now. I added the barrel section to prove to you that it indeed does have one. ;)
