Is the bottom of the sight radiused for the 22/45 or 22/45 Lite?

 

Both guns are not lites. When you hold the sight on top of the barrel the radius fits perfectly. But when I try to screw it on the right edge touches first. I think the hole is slightly canted.

 

Glue it on with some Loctite Black Max and cut the screw head off and glue it in the hole in the sight. That stuff is tough. The sight won't go anywhere without a little heat and a lot of persuasion.

 

I just had 2 people look at it and we all agree the sight screw hole is off the center line. Not going to glue a sight on, sending it back to ruger for replacement.

 

Was the original sight crooked?

 

I have the same issue
My XT-22 Front sight mounting hole was drilled in slightly off center on barrel, easy to see, shot low/left and looks funny.
I put a 1/32-ish shim under the low side and raised the rear sight and now it's shooting where I'm aiming, great groups too. Would you just run that and be good, or would you want to send out to the factory to get it sorted?
Eventually I'll be using a scope, but I like running iron sights and I also figure I paid for a straight gun. Is the hassle worth it?

 

Just received the email from ruger that they are replacing the gun. I can switch to a different model and pay the difference.
