Fiber Optic Sight for my 41

I'm 74 and my eyes are not very good anymore. I shoot several pistols with fiber optic and some with red dots. I really like fiber optic front and rear for a holstered pistol when mowing pastures to shoot gophers. My 41 has integral front sights on both barrels so I'm looking for a solution. Does anyone make a barrel with a removable front sight and if so, what manufacturer makes a compatable high vis sight set. I have a Burris Fast Fire that would fit on the scope rail but then it will not fit in the holster. Thank you in advance.

The Model 41 Performance Center has a removable front sight, and EWK makes a fiber optic swap-in for it

This information probably doesn't help you much. There's a near zero chance that S&W would sell you just the 41PC barrel, although it would swap in instantly, of course.

The only other option I know of would be to order one of these, and wait...

Thanks for the info. I'm trying the phosphorus paint suggested below first. I may have to try for a barrel later. My wife gave the gun to me 20 years ago and it's been a safe queen ever since. I didn't want to get a scratch on it. Well, I'm 74 now so she asks me "what in the world are you saving it for"? So I hope to enjoy it for a few years.

I went through this already. The product you purchased will work. Make sure you stir it good before you use it.

It does not store well. It will start to set up because oxygen gets in the bottle when you open it.

I found this one instead. GUN SIGHT glow in the dark Paint, Scope Marker Glowing pigment Paint kit mix | eBay

This one you mix your self. More powder in the mix, the brighter. I've had my kit for over a year and I can still mix up a batch.

GBLars,

Do let us know how the glow paint works out for you. I also live in the "Badger State". For a gunsmith recommendation, contact Bryan Wolfe at Northstar Gunworks.

It is my understanding that he has a two year Associates Degree in gunsmithing. Many who had work done by him were very satisfied with the results.
