Extra uppers

I had a couple extra uppers and then in a moment of weakness I ordered a Black Mamba upper. As luck would have it Quick1 listed real deal Black Mamba lower in the Marketplace. Interesting how Quick1 had installed such similar grips as I had on my 22/45. As you might suspect the VC built lower has just a touch nicer trigger than the lower I installed a VC kit in.

Thanks. The ability to so easily swap uppers on the MK IV’s is awesome. The 3.5” in the pic is one of the ones Volquartsen shortened. I haven’t shot it yet as I just picked it up today.

The bolts with VC’s shiny black finish are more than eye candy. They really are much smoother cycling.

So I noticed in @Raztus collection, that each Upper has it's own bolt. I am wondering the pro's and con's of having a unique bolt for each Upper?

I have a Mark IV 22/45 Lite and just added a 5.5" Bull Barrel that I purchased from Volquartsen. I love the fast swap, and the feel of the same grips and trigger - and am currently use the original bolt that came with the 22/45 Lite on both Uppers. Everything function perfectly.

So what are the pro's and con's of using the same bolt on both Uppers?

There is probably no advantage. I will say that the Volquartsen bolts with DLC slick finish seem to operate smoother. If you keep a look on their clearance and e-bay pages they sometimes Ruger bolts thar they have coated for sale.
