Who is a fan of owning the same pistol in rimfire and center fire versions? Or a barrel and slide that can be swapped from, say, 22lr to 9mm? Do you find the claimed advantages, like training or just hours with the rimfire version carrying over to the center fire gun? Any disadvantages?

I own pistols, subguns, and rifles that are duplicates in .22. For me the benefit of having a duplicate on 22lr is being able to shoot more, not necessarily training. With a 22 suppressed you can shoot in your backyard, basement, or impromptu range. Centerfire you need a true range. For real training I use centerfire. The .22 versions on some are these like the Stribog are just great fun to shoot!

Also one thing to consider is things like an FRT in an mp5 you can use centerfire but not with .22 version. You can put binary triggers in things like the 15-22 though, but not the same as a FRT.
