Just a head's up, for anyone looking some SK-STD+:

I was told shipping was $17+ on 2 bricks to NC.
Thanks Lee. My wife just bought me a couple bricks for Christmas. About time I tried some of this.

Oneman..... that is a pretty good start. About where I was at the beginning. I have to ask. Are you using a scoring plug? There are several bulls that look like they would score better, be it a point or an X. If not, it is an inexpensive tool for additional points. Let us know if there are any questions you have. Everyone here is glad to help and want everyone to shoot to their best.

Good to hear you are getting one ordered. When scoring, it is an imperative thing. Either it touches the line or it doen't. Either there is green showing on the X ring or it isn't. You can use a magnifier to look closer if you feel the need. Aso, look on the actual plug and sometimes you will see that it is or isn't. And don't worry. If you start posting inaccurate scores, someone will probably call the 2nd one for you. LOL.

I will say, not your best Peter, but at least you got out and gave it a whirl, in 38* weather. I have not pulled a trigger since Oct. 14. I have no idea who I will feel by Friday and Saturday but the temps are supposed to go from the single digits of last night to the low 70s by Saturday. All I can do is hope that I will feel like getting outside. Hopefully RD will be over one of those days and give me a hand with set-up and then he can laugh at my score.

I will make this target my official entry for my 457 At-One. If warmer temps arrive I will try one of my other CZ's.

Charlie44gs, does your At-One shoot Eley Club best or is it just what you used for this target? I have an At-One and it does not seem to like any Eley.

Spider,
That was just a lucky day for me and the AT-One. My 457 Varmint has usually performed better than my other 457's. I am not dedicated ammo tester and assume I am a much greater variable than the ammo. SK Std+ shoots well in all of my CZ's. I can usually shoot between 235 and 245 with At-One and the Varmint. I struggle more with the American and the Lux since they have narrower fore-ends. I need to try a different front bag.

I wish I could tell you the Eley works great in At-Ones but I cannot. At 78 and having a cataract in my one good eye I am happy to have a respectable target once a month. As others have said CZ's will always perform better than my abilities. Hope you had a merry and warm Christmas and can get to the range soon.
Charlie

Thanks Charlie. I'm having a difficult time knowing what bad shot is a flyer, and what bad shot is me, but one thing I am sure of, I could spend a lot of money trying to get the best ammo. Come to think of it, I already have. But I sure am having fun. 19 degrees here yesterday in southern South Carolina, looking foreward to warmer weather and more range time. Merry Christmas.

Hope you get a weather break. Out here it sounds like everyone is getting hammered.
Stay warm and go shooting.
Cheers,

Georgia weather was pleasant yesterday and afforded one last 2022 range trip. I shot the 457 American. Tried Norma Tac 22 and scored 239 5x but did slightly better with the SK.

Not the best way to close out the year but considering the circumstances, I'll be satisfied. As I mentioned earlier, today was the first time I have pulled a trigger since mid-October and it shows. But thanks to RD Walker who came over and helped me get stuff right and run back and forth changing targets, I did get one I could post for the end of the year.

Nice day out. 60 degrees with little wind.
Trying out my new Royal 16.5. Will use it as my full time suppressor host except when shooting this match.
Bought a smaller bag for my front rest. Protektor small. Works better, but gun still moves around too much. Might try a different rear bag with taller ears.
Like this one a lot.

Tried a few targets after the kids and grandkids departed, the temperatures rose, the frozen pipe was repaired and the trash truck came 4 days late. By usual standards, the range was crowded but I managed to do about average for me.
