CZ-75 Kadet 2 -- FINALLY!

I've been looking for one of these for a year or two now. Got interested in them right when they were discontinued I think haha. I love it so far. One range trip and I blew through 150 rounds. No malfunctions with CCI minimags, though I tried a few other brands that it did not like as much (including SK pistol match, which was interesting to me).

Anyway, I paid a touch more than I wanted, but super, super happy. I am sure that I'll get my money's worth. Who knows, maybe thread it and throw a can on it eventually...

Anyone else have one? Tips or tricks?

No tips or tricks, but I would like to find one of those Kadet II with the funding to back up the purchase.

CZ also did a 22 adaptor for certain models, but only specific models and fitting required. After some though, I prefer a complete 2nd gun. Someday .....

I have this TS2 and I like it a lot. This single action pistol has a better trigger pull than the DA version when fired in SA. For me it would not be a seamless transition.

OK- In the way of tip & tricks. Try one of these some time. This exact model.

This the source I use for my magazines.

It would probably make you cry if I told you what I paid for my Kadet 2 with 4 magazines, original box and all the paperwork.

I have use it on my SP-01 and it has been flawless. I tried using on my CZ Custom Shop Accu-Shadow and it was not reliable. Mostly light strikes, but the Accu-Shadow has a very light trigger pull.

I went into the same gun shop about 2 months later and there was a CZ 85 (same as a 75 but fully ambidextrous) with an original Kadet kit at a price that basically got me the Kadet kit for free.

They were both on consignment from different people.

I am stopping there tonight after work, I try to get there once a week or so.

Congratulations on your acquisition, CZ makes some very fine pistols.

Wow, so now you have a CZ-75 with Kadet kit AND a CZ-85 with Kadet kit? Very nice. The 85's were always interesting to me, though I've never had the interest to ever track one down. I feel like their a cool piece that straddles the Cold War wonder nines and more modern pistols with their emphasis on ambidextrous control and everything.

When I bought my CZ 75B pair back around 2007,,,
I paid $499.99 for the 9mm and $599.00 for the 22.LR Kadet.

It amused me that I paid $100 more for the rimfire.

I bought 4 extra mags for each at $24.99 apiece.

I don't shoot either of them much of late,,,
But for the first 4-5 years I shot them like I stole them.

Using CCI Mini-Mags I don't think I ever had even one malfunction,,,
I switched to CCI-SV so as to not beat the pistol to death,,,
I had the same reliable performance with that ammo.

Now having said that,,,
I need to do a clean-n-lube on them,,,
And take them dancing at my range very soon.

tips/tricks/hints....

if you want any OEM mags, get them while you can. They wont be cheap, but they are worth it.

i ve got a couple of the Kadet pistols and i think just about every 22LR conversion they made/offered.

enjoy it and take care of it. You say you paid a bit more than you wanted. Really small violin playing here. Just wait until you decide to sell it in the future and then think back on what you said and what you get for it. You would have wished, you bought more. They dont make them anymore and the supply will only get smaller

I tried a few other brands that it did not like as much (including SK pistol match, which was interesting to me).
If you are new to guns/22LRs you have to understand and keep in mind that not every gun will like any or all of the ammo you may feed it.

Even the same guns or the next gun next to yours off the same assembly line may not be the same in several ways.

its the nature of the beast. You may "THINK" they should be the same, but tell the guns that.

If you want look for a 1911 or BHP holster.

Also dont make a big deal out of this unless you want to.

People still do leatherwork and so if you dont find anything look for any leather craftsman in your area and ask what it will cost to have a custom one made.

Also, if you have gun shows in your area, take your pistol with you and browse the tables for used holsters. See if anyone fits and if you want take it home. Same with any gun shops in your area. Chances are they may have a box in the back with used holsters.

you can also check with the gun auctions/selling sites too and see what's someone has for sale or had made.

im sure you will find something that will work , i was going to offer you a galco carry belt holster but i think its a long way from what you need , check out alien gear and maybe one of the three gun holsters , i shot my CZ75 for three gun but when i gifted the gun to my nephew/godson i gave him all the gear with it holster , mag pouches , mags , belt and a bunch of ammo , so i got nothing for it left ,
