Crosman 1377

I have a Crosman 1377 on the way from Airgun Depot. These things are worse than 10/22’s. The steel breech kit arrived today, and a flat-top piston and valve kit, walnut grips, metal barrel band and clevis-style pump arm pin are on the way. Just what I needed…a new addiction.

I should wash my mouth out with soap for suggesting cheap options, but the stock sear spring for the 1377 is almost stout enough to sub in for coil springs on the back of my pickup truck. ACE hardware has a spring with much lighter gauge wire, almost exactly the same coil diameter, and maybe half an inch (or less) longer than the stock sear spring. Just dropping that ACE spring into your 1377 will cut your trigger pull down to something like 1.5 pounds. Because it's so light, that ACE spring can bow rather than compress in a linear way, so I also grabbed a 1/4" piece of brass tube about an inch long and stuck it on the anchor lug that the spring goes over to act as a guide for the spring (or you can drill out an empty 22lr shell which also works). More simple and quick to do than the time it takes to explain it.

That ACE spring won't make the trigger pull any more crisp - you'll need an aftermarket sear for that - but for less than $5 and a trip to ACE, it's a huge difference for the better on pull weight.
