It's made in Germany. So Colt really has nothing to do with this rifle?
Thats a shameI saw it for the first time yesterday and I put it on my #1 postiton to buy list. I saw it for $679
I bought a "Walther" Force1000 Air rifle and it seemed to have been built nice and solid. Well, 2 side screws keep coming loose and it isn't very accurate. I am going to give it another try, but I am not sure I got my monies worth. I may have to return it.
Why am I posting about my air rifle that doesn't work too well?
It's distributed by a company called, "Umarex". My rifle isn't made by Walther in Germany, it made in China.
Is the Colt M4 .22 made in China too?
I've had my Umarex for about a month. My son and I have really put it through it's paces. We have about 1,000 rounds through it. It really likes Federal bulk and Winchester X-pert bulk. I've also set it up to shoot standard velocity Aguila SE and Wolf Match Target ammo.My fist time out with my M4 Carbine was a disaster.
Note: Ammo used has been CCI mini-mags and both the Federal and Winchester bulk pack along with some Federal 510. No one ammo was any more reliable than the other. Winchester Super-X would not feed due to the large hollow point.
When I contacted my dealer and told him the story he said he will take one off his shelf and give it to his gunsmith to take out to the range and run it hard to make sure I get a good one. I give my dealer, Schryvers Gun Sales an A+ too for going to bat for a customer. (This is the first gun I have bought from him)
So, hopefully next week I can report back that I have a sweet new M4 Carbine that shoots like a dream. If not, its going back to Umarex for a new one which will be sold for an M&P 15-22.
I'm not sure what I "lost" in buying the Colt M4 OPS.I certainly don't care what others buy, as I like to say "somebody has to lose it might as well be the other guy"
