Are they still producing them?
It looks like they were available in a very limited quantity about a year ago. Since, I cannot find one. They were selling for about 400 over MSRP on gunbroker. Now they are not available anymore.
Do you know if Colt is planning to produce more of King Cobra 22lr?

I have just seen the new examples, and they move into as far as I am concerned art. Good night are they good looking.

Again IMHO the rubber grips are a real big minus to them, they just cry for nice wood grips....but that is just me.

I would love to have one, and it was hard walking out of the store without it, I just don't want to spend that money now.

After waiting 6 months from ordering it, Bass Pro Shops called today and told me they had received it. I have picked it up and it looks and feels great. Trigger is nice in both single and double action. I haven’t put it on a trigger gauge yet so I don’t have any more details. The cylinder is not rebated like many hoped would come in the redesign. I never got to handle one of the originals so I can’t identify what Colt changed.

I have one of the original Colt King Cobra Target 22s and have not experienced any light strikes, the revolver has been fantastic. That said my LGS had 3 of the so called revised version and I bought a 2'nd one. So far I don't know what if any engineering changes were done. The revolver looks and feels identical to the one I bought last year. I was hoping for a target hammer but that didn't happen. But at least they are out in the shops and available for MSRP.

I think there are duds once in a while with any manufacturer. I have several S&W's including three 617's and all have been great. I bought a new King Cobra .22 last fall, I sent it back for problems, they replaced it, I then sent it back for problems, still waiting for one that works. Maybe other Colts are great but this new .22 is having a rough start; as far as my experience.

I was able to get a 4.25" at a local shop about a month ago. Happily paid retail. It was only the second one I had seen advertised locally this year. Both were dealers selling on a local classified's website. The other dealer wanted about $1150 and it sold with in a couple of days. I called the morning it was listed and ran over with credit card in hand.

It shoots well and has a decent trigger. I have a 6" Diamondback 22 that also shoots well. The drawback on the King Cobra is it takes a long time to clean 10 chambers.

I finally found a King Cobra 22 at a Not so local gun shop that was avaliable for MSRP, 999.00 I bought it on the spot 3 weeks ago. I also have a Smith 617 that I bought last January. The Smith has over 2500 rounds thru it, and the Colt only 300 rounds, (so far). At this point the Smith has a far better trigger. The Colt "stacks" just before the break, while the Smith is smooth and consistant all the way thru. The Colt is a better looking gun than the Smith. The Smith is heavier, (which I prefer) than the Colt. Overall, both guns are good quality and fun to shoot.

I actually saw a 4” version at one of the LGS yesterday and got to look it over. It had already been spoken for so that’s all I could do was look. If the buyer doesn’t come in . . . they will contact me - their price was $999.99. I also have S&W 617 & 648 both in 6” and have purposely not added a 617 4” hoping a Colt King Cobra would show up. None the less I am on their watch list if another becomes available.

Well, I got a call - the other guy backed out so I guess I will be the owner of a new Colt King Cobra Target 4” 22 LR revolver. I’ll have to break the news to the S&W collection. It appears that several of the Scheels locations have the 4” version in stock.
