Chassis obsession, which one?

Ugh, I went out to a LGS yesterday and they had a PMACA Standard Chassis sitting all lonely in their case... $179.00
Do I really need a chassis? No, but now I have started obsessing ...
What options are out there for a good chassis? Will it be more rigid than the stock polymer one?
The turnoff for me on the PMACA is the huge gap behind the trigger guard. I used to like the Krazy Ivan Chassis. I just don't know... Help!! I need some advice from a few enablers.
My 22Charger as she sits today.

I already have way to much into this gun, but it is the most fun shooting machine I have.

Several aluminum choices such as Odin, Crazy Ivan and Grey Birch. There are others but those pop into my head right now. I have a build based on a Odin 'Deep Six' and I'm planning on another with a Grey Birch. My opinion is that an aluminum chassis is probably the most stable and if you're going to a chassis, go big. The 3 I mentioned have reasonable prices and are usually available. By the way, I shoot pistols, no brace; but I think most will take a brace if that's your flavor.

I purchased my Crazy Ivan chassis four years ago, and I have been more than happy with it. It accepts AR accessories like forends grips and braces, it is very ridged and to me it looks good. They supply a good filler between the trigger guard and the grip. I don't have any other chassis so can't comment on them, but I am super happy with the CI.

Are you sure you don't want another Charger? OK, here goes what my though process would be...

Does the pictured Charger do what I want now? If so, do I want that function to change? If yse, to what? If no, then I leave it alone.

But you want that Charger with a chassis. That means Charger #2 that you build to fill a specific niche.

Instead of just a chassis you get another Charger. How'd I do at enabling?

Coopsdaddy, the Deep Six and the Odin chassis systems are from Enoch Industries, Enoch Industries | Home Of The ODIN Chassis System , I believe they are located in Texas. The Deep Six is the larger of the two. The pricing is around $225~250 depending on options.
As to the question of how much more stable are the aluminum chassis than the Ruger. What are you doing with you pistol? Mine are bench pistols with longer barrels, the Ruger doesn't give the same confidence when shooting as the Al chassis.

My charger fills many roles... I shoot off hand with quick followup shots at moving or rolling targets on the 25 yard backstop, then I'll bench it and shoot 50 and 75 yard target groups. Personally I don't think the Ruger supplied bipod is stable enough for 100 yard use.
I never felt I could test different torque settings to see if improvement could be had with the stock Ruger chassis.

Agree on the Ruger bipod, but I have used others that were no better. My preference is a 'proper bench rest', when that is practical. Both of my Chargers are set up for AS mounts and I have built an AS 'bag sled' to use with the rest as well as bipods. The Enoch chassis has an AS plate adapted via the M-Lock and the plastic Ruger has a homemade AS kludge.

Okay, I did something today.... I picked up that PMACA Chassis for $175 out the door, no box or papers. I also took a look into their bargain bin and found a take off bipod that looked like almost new for $10. No name stamped on the bipod but it is worth the try.

This project keeps evolving... LOL

Enoch had some growing pains from what I could tell a few years back... they spawned out and worked with another shop I know to get their chassis to market. That's what I seem to believe from what I saw years ago. Now they're pushing forward with lots of social media posting and they got their fire back.

I'm digging the design of it still. For a charger, I'm having dilemmas on whether the Enoch one, or the one from Heresy instead. They're both slick little numbers.
