Challenger vs early Buckmark grips

I bought a pair of wood grips for my mid 80's Buckmark. After receiving them I realized they did not have the cutouts for the mag release. It looks like they might be for the Challenger. The seller said they were for the Buckmark and I didn't think to pay attention to whether or not it had the cutouts. I really like them because they have the old style medallions in them. I would like to have wood grips that fit the era of my gun. Are these identical to the old style Buckmark grips except the cutouts (and the little pin recess on the back side on the right panel)? Did Browning make grips like these for the early Buckmarks? The seller will take them back and refund all including shipping but then I'd be searching again.

Thanks seaotter. Does anyone know if Browning made grips like this for the early Buckmark? I saw a photo of a micro that had a set that looked like these but I can't find a set for sale. Just trying to figure out if I should risk modifying these or send them back and keep looking.

The Buck Mark Challenge (no "R" for last letter) came out in 1999 with a grip that looks like it would fit. The Challenge grip is solid wood and not laminated as on the C-II and C-III. The early Challenge grip was not checkered. Some time later the grips were checkered. I haven't followed the early Buck Mark production to know if some other models before 1999 could fit. A search here on RFC Browning may help.
