anything cci quiet gets out of wack past 25-30 yards. CCI SV and subsonic HP will work much better. Be aware, your POI will change from the quiets. I wouldn't think that segmented is a must for squirrels. The 45gr suppressor is not known to be quite as accurate as the 40 grain stuff I just mentioned. I know you asked about something else, but I have no experience with it yet so I'm throwing other options out there that I do have experience with.

 

Guns vary widely on what they like, I have a Savage that shoots Quiets extremely well. Took at Tree Rat at 65 yards with Quiets and only aimed about 2 inches above its head. Poor squirrel died from its CPU shutting down before it hit the ground. Shot threw a suppressor, I heard the bullet hit.

 

Just talking with a friend yesterday who said his FV-SR was shooting the Segmented Quiets just great, taking out nuisance Squirrels and even a couple of depredation Deer with lung shots. I did a double take on the Deer but this guy just doesn't lie or exaggerate. Guess they've some usefulness in some cases.

 

Deer are pretty fragile critters they just can't hold much lead when hit in the right spots.

 

I have the same barrel and SV works very well. Stays subsonic unlike an 18" barrel. Mine likes Norma Tac 22.

 

If you can find it id give it a try. My volqquartsen like the “suppressor” version and they like the 40 grain segmented. So hopwfully they should shoot ok. Waiting to try some myself

A very long time ago. I use to shoot Remington CB's out of my Savage BV. They were accurate as all get out under 25 yards. So I put a hurting on the squirrels in the back yard shooting right out of the kitchen window(allegedly). They shot quieter than a pellet gun. Living in the city limits, I sure did get away with a lot😁

 

Any standard velocity ammo should work just fine and suppress well. For cheap, CCI standard velocity ,for more expensive anything eley or SK or Lapua

 

CCI Subsonic HP is my go to, the pop of the hit is louder than the suppressed sound. I've dropped limb rats at 70 yards and a mid body shot. Real accurate out of my Ruger American Rimfire.
Got to look up the suppressor max, knew about the regular suppressor 45gr hp but not the max.

 

Got some today! Hopefully test it out by the weekend! Ill report back!

 

I’m considering trying the new CCI Suppressor Max .22LR (also segmented HPs) and hoping that the heavier bullet and higher velocity might tighten things up a bit.
There’s not much real-world feedback out there yet—anyone have experience with this new ammo?

I am not familiar with this offering, but I have a brick of Gemtech Silencer Subsonic 42gr rated at 1020fps (www.gem-tech.com). It claims Boise/Eagle ID as its home.

My Gemtech ammo tested:

1061fps through my 20.9" CZ455 Varmint,
1006fps through my 24.8" CZ455 Training Rifle,
981fps through my 28.7" CZ455 UltraLux.

Extreme Spreads were 60~80fps with Standard Deviation 14~18fps.
Groups were disappointing: 3.4~3.7 MOA at various distances.

 

I have good luck with Cci sv out for most of my 22’s! Great for off hand plinking or small game. Surpresses well also!

 

I use it to sight in or test guns, then finish up with what ever ammo I plan to use.. but same here, most all of mine shoot SV very well and almost the same point of impacts the CCI Subsonic HP.

 

I have had very good luck with CCI Segmented Subsonic. It is a copper washed 40 grain bullet running an advertised 1050 fps at the muzzle. It gives good consistent accuracy out to about 75 yards and has VERY impressive terminal performance on squirrels.

 

I have been using the suppressor max 45gr segmented ammo on rats in the back yard, using my Ruger mkIV with a Deadair mask, shots are 15-20 ft, nickel sized exits, so far very happy with this ammo.
