Please share your views and experience with this ammo? Is it a good general purpose load for the .22 mag? Thanks to all.

I have been using Fiocchi's version(manufactured by CCI) of the same boolit...shoots as accurate as anything I have tried...it is intended for heavier/bigger game than a squirrel as it's design is intended for deeper penetration or penetration against bone and such...should make a really good coyote round...I haven't shot any kinda game with it but the rounds I have dug out of the ground had mushroomed like a big game core-lokt style of boolit as opposed to just blowing up like a hollow point tends to do...........

p.s it would be good against squirrels and such intended for the stew pot since it won't mangle the meat as bad as a jhp will........mj

Asking more questions!!!

Sorry, I started a post then didn't get back to it for a while. I see CCI advertises the round as game point. I guess game can be anything from a squirrel to a moose. I was looking to see what experience anyone has had with it. Just wanted to considering a round that would be useful as a all around .22 mag load. Some target shooting, taking a squirrel or rabbit without destroying to much meat, and if the opportunity presented itself a bobcat or coyote. What would be the best one load for that? In other words, what is the best all around .22 mag load? Is it the Fiocchi .22 mag JSP?:AR15firin

...the "best" all round cartridge is the one you and especially your gun like the best...I have been shooting the 22mag for 35yrs and the WinSuperX 40gr JHP has long been my goto round(and still is)...the Fiochhi's(built by CCI in Mo) are a "new" round(formerly built by ARMSCOR in the Philippines) and I have not used them enough to have a firmly held opinion of them...yet...if you want something to take a squirrel or rabbit without destroying the meat and be capable of taking a bobcat or coyote, they should work quite well...plus, for the time being, they're CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. I rarely buy CCI's of any kind because, FOR ME, I have found ammo that is cheaper and performs as well(or better)...such as the 22magWinSuperX's and Fed 550 bulk for 22LR.............mj
p.s.s. if you couldn't tell the theme here...I'm CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!.........mj

OK I've used game points on some critters. I like them (and FMJs) for squirrels because I eat them. A 22WMR FMJ through the chest of a squirrel is like a 12 gauge slug through a deer. Game points work well on raccoons, possums and groundhogs too. Penetration is pretty much always 100% and fur damage isn't crazy but the critters go down quickly. I've never had a chance at a coyote while carrying them but I think they'd do pretty well. I like the Federal 50gr for coyotes too. At least at close ranges (75 yards or less).
