BX-25 Mag

I found no forums post about these. Unless I am search impaired. I purchased two of these for my 10/22 cause you know larger mag is good. Anyways one works perfectly fine the other has some feed issues. Is there an easy fix or should I send it to Ruger to get replaced? I bought these before I saw numerous negative reviews for them so I am hoping for the best.

The first time out with my first BX-25 I had immediate problems. The rounds were nose diving into the inside front of the mag and jamming. I figured it was going to be a problematic mag at best. I took it apart when I got home and looked for and smoothed out any rough spots on the inside. I also manually rode the follower up and down in its track a few times. Since then I fired thousands of rounds through it and haven't had any real issues with it. I bought a second one and did the same thing to it before I even tried it at the range and it has had zero problems.

You may want to try different ammo as well. I mainly use CCI SV but also regularly shoot many varieties of match ammo. If nothing works I'd contact Ruger and return it. Their customer service is top notch and they will replace your mag without any hassles.

Thanks for the tip.

I took them apart looking for any obvious differences. I also manually rode the follower and lubed the track. The only difference I found was in the seams. The one with issues does not line up as squarely as the other so there is a lip. I will try the mag again to see if it improved any.

I went to the range this weekend and I tried a few different ammo types in my BX-25's. I had feed issues with some but no problems with other brands. I find it a bit annoying that the cheap bulk stuff will not feed but almost everything else has no problems. I have looked at some of the other thread about the BX-25 and I will see if I have some of the same problems.

Thanks for pointing to more threads.
