Hi all

I see this scope Bushnell Rimfire 6-18x40 SF Multi-X Rifle Scope on offer on local eBay.

See over here

Has anybody used one? If so all the usual questions apply - any good, size of optical lens, height of rings required to use them, and so on.

Thanks in advance.

PS it will go on a CZ if I buy one.

They have a 3x12 model also. I looked at them the other day and they don't look like bad scopes. The only thing I didn't like about them is the turrets are not covered by caps. In my opion turrets are supposed to be cover so they don't get accidentally moved so I passed myself. I went with a Vortex instead.

A nice-looking scope, what CZ model/variant is this intended for?

I have a very similar looking scope on my 455 Varmint...

My scope is a Nitrex TR-2 5-15x40 SF. Turrets are exposed, it's not an issue for me or the scope. They are sealed and can take at least moderate rain, though I wouldn't immerse the scope in water.

BTW, those are CZ rings. :t

I have that same scope, TB, on a Remington 541T. I like the scope and find no problems with the exposed turrets. On the Nitrex, the turrets are locked in when pushed down and are adjusted after being pulled up so little danger in inadvertently moving them. I don't know if that Bushnell Rimfire scope has a similar set-up with its turrets or how it stacks up against some of the other Bushnells. I have an Elite 3500, two 4500s and 6500 and I like them a lot (most of my other scopes are Leupold VX-2s and VX3s as well as a Nightforce Competition so feel pretty comfortable saying the Bushnells are good scopes :)).

I just checked and that Bushnell Rimfire 6-18X40 SF scope sells for $150 (US) on Optics Planet. That price would put it in the Bushnell Trophy class of scopes rather than the Elites, but that doesn't make it a bad scope. I don't know whether it's Japanese (or Philippines) vs Chinese???

I have a couple of Bushnell's, including the 4-12 side focus that I can recently put on my 452 22lr. Compared to the Mueller 4.5-14 ao I bought after the Bushnell, I personally would take the Mueller any day over the Bushnell in that price range. The Mueller has far superior glass in my opinion. Could be just the models I have, so take that small sample for what it's worth.

Sent it back

The same scope sells for approximately $140.00 US on eBay in the states. Since it is sold as a rimfire scope (100 yard approximate) it has very thick crosshairs and is not useful much beyond that range due to the crosshairs.

I assumed although it was marketed as rimfire I could use it on a light recoil centerfire. Not! Less than 100 rounds from a Remington VLS in 223 and it would not hold POA. Sent it back to the seller. Although he assured me the scope I got was an anomaly I opted for a refund. Which I used toward a Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x44. Although not a side turret scope it is only $25.00 more but a much better scope at a bargain price.
