Received a Bushnell Prime 3-12x40 AO scope I ordered for my 10/22 squirrel gun a couple of days ago and it seems to be a pretty nice scope for the price. I see it for $80 at Sportsmans Warehouse at the moment which is a few bucks less than what I paid.

The glass is clear and the magnification ring and side focus knob are not too firm and not too loose. They feel just right.

The windage and elevation turrets have a distinct click when you turn them and even though the elevation turret is not capped it doesn't feel like it'll move unless you intend to move it.

The rifle is at CPC to be accurized so I can't really test the tracking of the crosshairs or know if it'll hold zero yet. But so far so good. Can't wait to get it mounted and see how it really performs.

Wow, that's a screaming deal!! I immediately went to Sportsman's Whorehouse to find this and buy a few. At first all I could find was the $245 version, scrolling a bit further down the page and there it was. All excited I clicked on it and then noted that it said not shipping to my zip code, so I tried a few other zip codes... same thing, then I tried a zip code from the other side of the country and again, "Not available for shipping to this zip code". I'm not sure where you have to be to score one at this price but it is apparently not by me. So, I guess it sucks to be me.

Might I inquire where you were able to actually purchase one of these scopes at this drastically reduced price?

I ordered mine from Rural King in Huntsville, AL. It was the last one they had. After reading your post I checked again and, sure enough, it wasn't that price anymore at Sportsmans Warehouse. When I saw it at the reduced price the other day it said I could pick it up on Feb 1st at my nearest store here in TN.

Here is the 4-12 on eurooptic.com. It's been this price awhile too. Saw this deal before deciding on the 3-9.

Looking through my 3-9 (handheld, not mounted yet) I don't see the blurry edges Squirrelbark is talking about. It looks clear edge to edge in mine.

Not sure about the 4-12 he bought from Eurooptic but the 3-12 I bought does have the extra turret caps for different calibers.

Got the 4-12x40 Prime scopes today from EuroOptic. These are closeouts of this discontinued scope: Prime 4-12x40 Riflescope | Bushnell

It has an exposed elevation turret that is re-settable to zero. Also included is a standard style closed turret cover that can replace the exposed elevation turret. There is also one of the little SpudZ lens cleaning cloth thingies that stuffs into itself. No lens covers, which was sort of a bummer. I would gladly trade the lens cloth for a cheap crappy set of shock corded plastic lens covers. I took it outside just to look through it and the image looked pretty good to me, even when cranked up to 12x. The eye box seemed small and finicky but I was holding a beer in one hand and the scope in the other. Perhaps that perception will go away when it is actually mounted on a rifle. The HUGE plus for me is the Exo Barrier lens coating. I've got a couple of their scopes with that coating and a bunch with their original "Rain-Guard" coating. For a field rifle it's the stuff. All in all I think I scored. I'm pretty sure these used to run about $250 when they were actively in production. Another plus is that they were made in South Korea and not Communist China. For $89 there's a lot of bang for the buck.
