Saw this nice Browning rifle, at auction.
No race horse in this one!

I’d rather have a regular version with walnut than that particular one.
Maple can be very attractive, preferable, especially the ones with fiddleback, but I’m turned off by maple that has black spots in it, as that one does on the left side of the butt stock. Nothing special about the right side either.
Others can chase it.
In addition to the auction fees and shipping, still have to pay a dealer to receive it for you. In my neck of the woods, that’s another 50 for the transfer and 10 for a background check.
It do add up!!

Different Strokes, comes to mind, as I completely understand! Heck I knew of a couple guys that would die for some curly, fidleback, Maple! I have a friend that owns several of these dog gone things, and he loves them all. He's got his shooters and he's got his collectors, he said he wasn't going after this one , as he knows the guy who listed it!

I don't understand the comments. Are people saying $1000 is too high or too low? I see MSRP on a new (less blingy) Grade II is $1100 and this basically is a new Grade II. i am sure it is desirable to some buyers and I dont see one like this in the current lineup. Price seems about reasonable to me. Not a WOW. I prefer a Grade I over any of the Grade II, but this how my taste go. I have also stripped and refinish several Brownings to dump the gloss look. Similar to what is being done by many with the CZ 457. There are a couple model Miruko lever Winchester clones I would pay a premium over the current model.

If someone played $700 for a plain ol' Grade I then that just makes my case. A thousand seems fine for a Grade II with some features the bidders wanted. And if $1000 is Trump slump price., I dont see that either. Grade II $850 Cabelas. Sarcasm?
