The KM22 is made by the PPK outfit in Czech Republic.

Their advertising said that they used former Brno factory equipment, patterns and some original personnel to start manufacturing a modern take on some of Brnos classics.

It was easy to download their catalogue about a year ago, but recent attempts have drawn a blank, so maybe they went down.

They appear on the UK market now and again and appear to be very well made but dont usually attract premium prices. That example looks quite expensive to me!

I'll see if I can get an update on the current status of PPK Arms, or at least find a copy of their catalogue.

Soo.............nice Czech made guns in Brno tradition, but a real Brno? ......................well, 'fraid not.

Here's an extract from a current UK advertisement.

Anybody who is not well informed would think that this was an ad. for the sale of a Brno rifle, when in fact it is a PPK.

"BRNO KM-17 .17HMR Stock # gun00571
Condition: New
Make: BRNO
Model: KM-17
Calibre: .17HMR
Mechanism: Bolt Action
ÂŁ 375"

The last time I saw such an ad. I wrote to the dealer to question the description, he apologised and agreed that the ad. could be misleading. 30 mins later, his ad. was amended and the rifle correctly described as a "Czech made PPK rifle."

The appeal of these PPK rifle varies for me throughout the range. Some I think, "Oh, that's quite nice!" and others it's more like, "That stock looks like it's salvage from a 70's coffee table leg!"

For me, if you want a modern version of a BRNO, the Uhersky Brod made CZ is the one to go for!
