Brass Catcher

My Graco brass catcher just got here this morning and I mounted it to a Slik U-212 tripod I picked up at a local pawnshop.
It came from Graco's warehouse in Kearns Utah and got to Cheyenne pretty quickly.
The frame is made with steel rod and the opening is 18.5"X18.5". It has an arm that pivots out from the frame to hold the net open slightly.
The rain is "suppose" to stop tomorrow so I'll give the range a day to dry out and then see how well it works.
I'm hoping that this will be the ideal solution to keep my gimpy old self from having to hobble around and bend over to pick up a few pieces of brass at a time. :)

Brass Catcher Review:
Took the brass catcher along with the grandson and his best bud out to the range yesterday to do some shooting with the grandson's Glock and the new Hellcat, both 9mm.
Had a slight breeze coming from behind the catcher which pushed the net material forward so several empties bounced out before enough gathered in the bottom to hold the net completely open. After that of the 400+ rounds we fired 350+ ended up in the net and the few that hit at odd angles and still bounced out conveniently landed around the legs of the tripod.
Possible concerns:
A. The catcher limits the view on one side and how much you can swinging between multiple targets but if you're only shooting at one target or two close together this wouldn't be a concern.
B. You have to make sure you and the catcher are both correctly positioned to get the best results so this adds a bit of time to getting set up and shooting.
Final impression. Money well spent.

Took the catcher out again to see how well it worked with my 45acp S&W 4566. This time I put a golf ball size rock from the range in each corner of the net to help hold it open.
Once I get it adjusted to the way the S&W ejects, a high and to the side arc, it worked great and far less empties bounced out. The more I use it the more I like it. :)
