First off.. I have two different Boyd's evolution stocks.
One for a marlin model 795
And
Ruger 10/22
I guess it's the grip angle, helps the trigger on the 795.
The Ruger is thicker.
Both are great for off hand shooting.
I like them both
I lean towards the marlin in these stocks
I think the Ruger is best in the Hogue stock
If you want a wood stock for your marlin 795.? This is a good option.

Have you tried a magpul X22? So comfortable. I like the hogue stock too, but the x22 is the clear winner in comfort to me.

In general I like the Evo best (especially since it's ambi, so friends who hang off of the wrong side of a stock, can shoot it too), then the Barracuda, with the Blaster coming in last

only because the Evo and Barracuda fit my hand better...the reach from the pistol grip to the trigger blade, is a bit of a stretch for me on the Blaster

if you have larger hands, you may find that you like the Blaster better..but, it's something you actually have to feel to know which one fits your hand better

one thing going for the Blaster over the Evo and Barracuda though is the length of the forearm, if you're shooting a 20" barrel, it will look better and balance better in a Blaster than either the Evo or the Barracuda with their abbreviated forearms and windowed/lightened butts, which IMHO are better looking and feeling with shorter and/or lighter barrels

as for offhand shooting, I know you didn't mention it but I like the Raptor the most..it's one of my all around favorites stock designs, both visually and physically, but if pressed, I guess I would say the Barracuda would come in second, but just barely over the Evo if I were building a rifle just for me to shoot..but only because it has bit more visual interest going on

I do like the Evo stock and for a long time reserved it's use to my KIDD builds. But awhile ago, I put together a CZ457 Scout and found the Scout stock just too short to be practical. I tried an American stock and it was OK, but then I wondered whether Boyds offered an Evo stock for the 457. And, yes, they do, so I oredered one. I'm pleased with the result. The Evo is definitely a flexible design for different rifles.
