Blueing tank (or pan) ideas

I'm in need of ideas for a rust blueing boil the barrel tank. Heard about the section of house gutter, that seems too flimsy. Is it?
Pipe section with caps and a cutaway might work, but it'd want to roll.
Thought about maybe a rocker panel cover from a big truck or locomotive engine, but haven't found it yet. I need it on the cheap. Brownells has them for about 140. I have a sheet of 1/8" steel that would be dandy, but my acquaintance at the steel shop wanted hundred bucks just to cut it and bend it for me. I dunno how I could make the bends myself. I'd be fine with silicone caulking the ends in it, because I don't have a welder.
What are you using?

The Gutter idea works fine; however after using one, I've come to the conclusion, that it heat sinks off a tremendous amount of heat, and you need to put a lot of BTU's, in it, to keep the water boiling. I used a gutter to boil water for a Winchester model 1895 lever action, and I had to use a propane heater underneath the gutter, along with a hot water tank heating element, going at the same time, to keep the water boiling.

A more efficient way is to use CPVC pipe (don't use standard PVC pipe, cause you want it to deal with 212 degrees), with one end capped off, and a Heating element from a 120 volt hot water heater, stuck in the end, with high temperature RTV to seal it. You can get the heating element for less than $15 at the big Home improvement places. The 120 volt heating element will have more than enough BTU's to keep the water boiling, and in fact you will have to occasionally unplug the element for a couple of minutes, to keep from boiling the water right out of the tube. Try and get 4 inch or larger pipe, so that you can stick na action, along with the barrel attached, in the tube, without rubbing the sides. p.s. I used a 3.5 inch pipe, but i recommend going to 4 inch or larger diameter.

Hey 22 Gnol Elfir
I have a bluing tank
made of relatively heavy metal that I purchased from Miday several years ago that I never got around to using. It may need a little cleaning on the inside from a little rust. It's yours for free if you want it. PM me if interested.
Oh my! PM sent!
See? What an awesome place this is! Thanks, y'all!
