Seem to be pretty common around here. Most can't seem to go to the grocery store without seeing one! Mountain lions are not scarce around here either, seems like there is a black one out of about every four seen. The wife showed me on facebook where a local guy saw a black one run across the road with half of a deer in its mouth.

I haven't seen any of either around here but then again, I don't need the attention!

Dearth , that's the boogy brothers when the were touring in
70's , and 80's they were on tour with Grateful Dead . I didn't participate, I heard they could trash
some dope. This was the concert called "Take no prisoners " album. They stay in the pacific northwest , a lot I have heard. They are Olympians in the feel no pain era.
Don't stay in one place long , they will leave the light on.
Just funnin , Buck

I usta live in the Nor-Cal Bigfoot area, Trinity and Humboldt counties.
A couple of years ago I sent Crunch some info about the "hoax" part. It was where a local Logger had carved out some big feet, then pressed the feet into the ground around the landing area.

I also heard a more reasonable explanation of our local Bigfoot one time, but hard to put into words and context here.

Just a couple miles outside Blue Ridge, Ga. on Hwy. 515 there’s a Big Foot museum.
It‘s a pretty cool place for both believers and non believers and a great place to take kids…they love it.
They have lots of displays, photos and a short movie to watch as well as all the trinkets and T-shirts.
It’s a fun place to waste an hour if your ever in the area

This post may seem OT, but it's relevant to the topic. So give it a chance.

I have a new "squat assist machine". $125 on Amazon. I'm not big on exercise machines -- other than my stationary bike, which I like a lot and use often in the Maine winter ... which is long. I even sold my real bike because I live on a network of very ... um, bike-unfriendly rural roads that are racked by frost-heave-cracks (some of which can swallow a bicycle) and no shoulders.

But in general, I'm more into weights (dumbbells, kettle bells, steel clubs, mace bells) and body weight exercises, including squats. But I have severe arthritis in my hips (one more than the other) and am likely to have hip surgery this year; verdict is still out on that. So regular squats can be ... a bit problematic.

Yet, they're good for strengthening muscles that need to be strong for hip support -- like glutes -- and quads, hamstrings, etc.

So I read some reviews and watched some videos of this machine, which is made by the same company as my stationary bike.

I love it. Took me a couple of days to learn how to use it effectively, including getting on and off of it without busting my butt.

But I'm up to 60 squats a day with it, and can feel a burn (but not hip pain) that I didn't get with regular squats.

So I decided to name it, just for fun.

I call it Sasquats. :geek:
