Bergara BXR magazine misfeeds.

I recently purchased a BXR carbon and overall it is a solid rifle.

However, the stock magazine causes frequent misfeeds and dents 1-2 rounds per 10 round load, often the last round. I was mainly using 38gr CPHP, but it did jam with at least one Norma Tac 22 40gr SV LRN that I tested as well.

The gun does not misfeed with Ruger 10 and 25 round magazines that I have tried. I have written to Bergara, but have not received any response. The simple solution is to only use Ruger magazines, but I am disappointed in the poor performance of the stock magazine.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I watched a yt video the other day and the guy was having feeding issues with his Bergara magazine but Ruger's worked fine. He contacted Bergara and they sent him new mags that worked flawlessly and requested him to ship the defective mags back to them on their dime. I would think they would handle this for you in a very timely manner.

I have the same problem with my bxr. Sent it back to Bergara and they said nothing wrong with it. I’m glad I’m not the only one with this problem.

I'm in the same boat; which is sinking fast. The endless misfeeds with this thing are totally aggravating... I find Eley tenex seem to be the worst and jam every single time. Their flat nose (or "truncated cone"?) catch on edge of breech like clock work. Simply refuses to feed from the mag. Eley Subsonic are a bit better but I don't think I've got through a 10 shot cycle yet from stock mag or my Ruger 10/22 rotary mags with that stuff. CCi standard is a but better but plenty of jams there too. I've got a bunch of Aguilla to try and maybe that'll be better. But I now regret buying BXR in the first place. I'm in Kanada so sending to Bergara for tweaking would be too costly. I haven't given up yet but I've been eyeing the Ruger Competition Shop offering too...Would be great to hear from anyone who's compared the two side by side...

My BXR mags feed ok, but I can't get the mags out of the mag well, jammed solid and I have to disassemble the rifle to remove them. Ruger 10 and 15 round mags run flawless and remove fine. I've never tried hollow points in it, just round nose Tac-22 and Blazer and Mini Mags. It is a very finicky rifle with standard velocity stuff, sometimes sv won't cycle the bolt in the way the rifle likes it.
