Many thanks for creating this program!:bthumb:

Do have 2 small easily implemented suggestions:

1: Name the file to reflect ver #, EG BWCSetup_v2.0.exe, instead of just BWCSetup.exe

(Doing so keeps those that may have 2.0 already from downloading it again, and reduces your bandwidth. Allows for ID'ing different versions by file name.)

2: Post a hash value CRC, MD5 Checksum http://beeblebrox.org/
HashTab 3.0
Description/Purpose: HashTab provides an easy way to verify file integrity and authenticity.

BWCSetup_v2.0.exe
File date: 03-22-2010
CRC32: 4CAB39D5
MD5: 95BC0E45643CB5FD59B6331FE3A4ECB9
SHA-1: 1DE6B128FEDF3D5172F088DAF9DF7D5BE4B4F4AC

MKnarr, Once more thanks for your time in creating the above program, the below and the previous suggestions are not in any way reflecting in a negative way on the program, or you.

Subject: Bare exe's. While a common format-(Easily run without a 3r party program) downsides outweigh the easily run aspect.

One more Suggestion:

Package the bare exe into a RAR, ZIP, or 7-zip (Free) archive.

If a bare exe has to be listed... List both a exe download, and a rar'd, zip'd version.
(You will note this is done on alot of sites you go to- )

Why?

1: Some due to security settings/ security polices aren't able to download exe's.
2: People that have alot of files on their PC, have a "tuned" (working) PC don't like "clicking" on bare exe's without knowing what the heck they are.

(I fall into that category- Every once and a while I will run across a bare exe and say, what the heck is that exe for!?. As I dislike re-installing the OS and don't click on bare exe's without knowing EXACTLY what they do- that file gets deleted.)

Package a RAR, ZIP with:

1: Screenshot of program (Pic is worth a thousand words)
2: Help /readme file/ info on the program
3: Setup program (exe)

Doing so allows a person to check-out the file, view the screenshot, read the documentation WITHOUT having to INSTALL the program. It also keeps all the "stuff" related to that program in (1) file. Additionally if a link is provided back to author's site it allows for the latest revision to be downloaded, without having to run a exe to gain access to that info.

PS: Packaging into a RAR allows you to create a "Recovery Record" for the archive that helps those with dirty connections "Recover" a damaged download.

Cons to Rar, Zip, 7-Zip, etc... Requires Winar, Winzip, or 7-zip (Free)

As 7-Zip is free, Con isn't a Con.

10/22 sights

I have an old Ruger 10/22 my son gave it back to me and said here you go dad! Unfortunately it has a broken rear sight. My question is, which is better scope or sight? Now the age question I'm 55 and wear glasses. I just want to go plinking with a friend that just got me fired back up on the great outdoors! So Scope or Sight and which of either are good and will not break the bank?

Thanks

This comment is way off topic. You'll get better responses if you post your question in Anything 10/22:

In response to your question I would suggest a simple 4 power scope designed for rimfire rifles i.e. one who's parellex is adjusted for rimfire rifles.

Tried the program and I was able to get close to one of the numbers above. My Carbine 18.5" came out 28.48 ounces vs 28.625 stated above. Program works very well. I have no inclination at the time to take the barrel off and weigh it directly, but that seems close given the inaccuracy of my measurements.

My 22" Distributor Sporter came out to 33.28 ounces. Anybody have a number on theirs using the program?

Nice job on the program. Thanks,
Mike
