Volquartsen is the only company I’m aware of that offers barrel upgrades for the 15-22. They also have a bolt/firing pin/extractor upgrades. All I have on my is the extractor and firing pin, no issues to report on those I figured for how cheap they are it was worth doing. Their barrels and bolts look great, there just aren’t a big number of folks who have bought them from what I can see in the number of reviews. The few that I’ve read seemed happy.

 

I doubt a premium after market barrel would tighten up the groups, the polymer upper has too much flex in it.

I have one of the Volquartsen barrel, accuracy didn't change but weight was substantially reduced. The barrel was designed for speed games.

 

I put the Volquartsen bolt in my daughter’s 15-22, but I have no desire to mess around rebarreling that polymer upper. That, and its light enough already without changing to a carbon fiber barrel.

 

That’s always been one of my big questions, weight? Is it really worth the money when the rifles are so light as is. I suppose it may improve the balance since they tend to be barrel heavy.
