It, and a little grease on moving part are all my firearms wear.

 

It is great for blueing. On my black powder Sharps (45-90 w/85g of Swiss 1 1/2) I use it after I clean all the crud out of it. Put some on a cloth and go over the barrel and and action. Send a couple of patches soaked in it down the barrel and I have yet to have a rust issue. Steven

 

Not only is ballistol safe, it is all I use now. I feel it is the best. Have tried the rest...

 

Ballistol is excelent choice for cleanning and protecting your guns.

 

I used it but not exclusively. It is good stuff for protection, but I am not sold on it being as good a lubricant as Break Free LP (lube protect).

It is safe for just about anything including leather and wood.

 

Wonderful stuff. Ages old too.

I use other stuff too. TW25 on the slide rails of my 239 SIG and my carry gun a CW9 KAHR.

But for quickie bore wipes and general light lube it works just as goo as it did 100 years ago.

Safe fore skin and safe to breath the pleasant odor.

And yes it makes bluing look great.

 

And it works great for taking the itch out of mosquito bites. Really :bthumb:

 

I have heard it was used in WWII to field clean minor wounds.

Ballistol is probably safer for more materials than any other gun oil type product. Fear not. Yes it really does make the bluing look nice!
