Cartridge failed to fully seat. Out of battery discharge.
That can happen if the cartridge dimensions are out of spec,
or there is a mechanical problem with the firearm.
The bolt doesn't fully chamber the cartridge
and the side of the brass blows out.

It damaged the firearm, blew the slide release off, I want it inspected before I fire it anymore. Who do I contact?? Kel tec or armscore??

That was the first time I had it out..on the third box of 50 rounds at that point... probably getting a little fouled but shouldn't of been to bad yet...I'm not familiar with it or know it's quirks yet. I had no prior malfunctions. Was feeding and firing flawless until then.

I've used the jacketed Armscore WMR as "break in" ammo in my RAR's, bolt guns, it's pretty gritty. In a blowback operated auto, it's not impossible that a bit of powder residue was bleeding back with every shot. It's at least a likely possibility for the source of the problem.

I can't say what WMR ammo is more of a problem than any other, as I rarely shoot up a box/50 rounds in a session, ($$$), and when I'm testing products for accuracy I pull a couple dry patches through the barrel, chamber to muzzle, between groups of different ammo. Some patches are usually worse than others, but there are visible differences for sure. Probably worth noting for a semi auto user. Midway sells a product called Ramrodz, cotton swabs for different calibers, that work well for cleaning the bore solvent from the chamber. Might be something to try when the Keltec get's back in action.

 

I own multiple Armscore firearms and love their story, gut have heard multple horor stories about their ammo at LGS over the past year.

 

Armscor .22WMR is the dirtiest ammo I've used in a handgun. Unburnt/partially burnt powder residue gets left everywhere on your gun, often preventing a round from fully chambering.
If I use it in my S&W Model 48, I have to run a nylon brush through the cylinder chambers to be able to load a second cylinder with ammo.
I also owned a PMR-30 and just never used Armscor because it's so dirty. It's not quite so bad in a rifle but...

 

Look at the ammo box. If it says "Armscor Philippines" get rid of it.

If it says "Armscore USA" it is normally good ammo.

 

Just saw this thread, Armscore ammo sucks in my S & W 22WMR pistol, Luckily I only bought 2 boxes, and shot them up in my Taurus 22 Mag revolver.

Ive shot around 1500 rounds of it in my 457 and never had an issue, in fact it's my go to for that rifle because its so accurate. Dont own a wmr handgun so cant speak to that. Id like to but I dont.

 

Its so accurate in my 457 I just bought another brick of 500 @ $9.89 per box of 50 which is cheaper than the usual price of about $12 per box.
Its just ridiculously accurate and consistent in my rifle that it immediately became my go to but I was running lower than my comfort level would bear. That ammo really makes that rifle fun and enjoyable and most importantly affordable enough to shoot. Heck I bought a LR barrel for it thinking that would make it affordable to shoot, more accurate due to high quality ammo availability, wrong. I was unable to match the wmr accuracy and consistency without spending way more per box on ammo. Ive been contemplating giving the LR another go but not for awhile now I guess. Oh well, its all fun.

 

Armscor USA is the good ammo from Armscor!

Armscor Precision is made in the Phillipines and gives Armscor the bad rep.

I found some Armscor USA locally, bought it and tried it. It worked wonderfully out of all three of my maggies. Then I couldnt find anymore.

Two years ago my son moved to Cheyenne, WY and what did I find on the shelf in Murdochs?!? ARMSCOR USA .22 WMR!
I bought all I could afford at the time.

It not only worked well, but was as inexpensive as any WMR I was finding that worked well.

I now make sure I have extra funds every time I go to visit him and buy all I can. Its a shame I have to travel 900 miles to buy it!

Precision is from the Philipines and USA is made here. The USA is the good stuff. Look carefully when you purchase.

 

Pretty sure in the pmr manual it specifically says not to use the armscore. I have a good bit of it and use it in a few rifles for plinking, I would t use it in a pistol though.
