I did a bit at a time, maybe 20% total. I put the sand in a ziplock bag in case I decided to adjust the fill later. I think it’s personal preference. I use my bag for bench, prone and barricades. So it may not be ideal for your needs.

 

took about a cup to 1.5 cups out. works great

 

As stated above, most folks remove 1.5C.

Just got my schmedium / heavy today. Very nicely crafted bag. I'm going to try mine as shipped as far as fill volume. Question, what is the purpose of the wax coating ?

Thanks for replies. Initial weight 8.5 lbs and after removing 1.5 Cups (1.0 lbs). Works great with building positions and forms around chassis while increased stability

 

BTW,,,,, you can purchase the Special Sand Media from Armageddon Gear to put in other bags.

I have it in 2 Protektor # 13A rear bags.

 

Getting a rather old post restarted. Game Changer and Shmedium. I went with the middle weight fill on both to save some weight. Shoulder holds me back. The Game Changer works great for me at about half fill. Really locks a rifle in. However the Ultra lightweight MPA chassis makes that large of a bag, too large. So, I am using a pint sized with almost a full fill When in combination with a bipod.

The Shmedium, is attached to a Mini Plate. I tried dropping the fill but wound up refilling it to almost full. Simply would not work with either the Vudoo or my centerfire PR rifles.

The Shmedium attached to the Mini Plate, seems to work fine and really speeds up movement from prop to prop.

 

When I put on new shooter NRL22 clinics, I advise removing 1-1.25 lb of sand from a Schmedium and keeping it in a ziploc bag. If you shoot NRL22 every month, in about a year, the material and seams will have stretched enough that you'll want to put about 2/3 of the fill back in.
