Does anybody have any experience with Arken scopes? I am looking at the EP-5 7-35X56 Gen 2 FFP Illuminated VPR - Zero Stop - 34mm Tube, advertised as having Japanese Glass and lifetime warranty. Opinions please

The mechanics and features on all the Arkens match most optics in the 2K class, naturally at their price point the glass doesn't, but it's very useable. Have an SH4 Gen2 and a Gen 1 EP5, very satisfied with both. The new 7x35 gets even better reviews than it's predecessors, hard to beat for the price point. Look at the DNT 7x35 also before buying, identical features and optics to the Arken, only difference being reticle layout...pick the one you prefer.

I have the EP-5 7-35X56 Gen 2 FFP scope on my 6.5 Creedmoor. Shoot regularly to 1K yards. Hard scope to beat for the price.
This is the one I ordered. I have no regerts!

This thing is built like a tank. It is heavy, per se, but I don't care. Glass is great, Clear, & bright.
focus and all the dials are smooth as butter. I have to admit I like it better than my Vortex which also has great glass but the dials are all stiff as they can be. Had to work them to make them loosen up to make it useable.

My only experience with Arken scopes is with their SH4 6-24 scopes. I have two of the SH4 models and one SH4J models. The J models comes with Japanese glass. All three work well but it is definitely worth the extra cost to get Japanese glass. There is a difference between the SH4 and the SH4J.

Well I just ordered one as well so we will see soon.
I also ordered or put on lay away one of the CZ-457 American from Rural King for $469.99.
Plan on putting the Action in my AT-One stock with the At-One Barrel and return the current resident back to the Varmint Stock and its 20 inch Barrel so factory condition.
I swore I wasn't going to spend any more money this month.
Dang addiction!!

I just looked at the j model at Midway. They’re selling for $307 which isn’t bad if it’s a good scope. What bothered me was the weight. According to the specs it’s 36 ounces. I imagine they’re only being used for bench shooting though, and in that application weight isn’t an issue.

I have 2 Arken scopes, the EP5 5-25x56 on my MTR and the SH4 GenII 4-24x50 on my Savage 17hmr both are very good scopes for the money, but the EP5 is by far the best of the 2 in every category. Better CA, Clarity, Resolution etc…
I actually bought the EP5 to test it side by side with my Vortex Strike Eagle and I was really surprised that it beat the SE! Not by much but certainly enough that I was happy with the purchase.

If there is a down fall my Arken does not come to focus/parallax at 25yds. I contacted them and they replace the scope with a new one so there Warranty is very good however for whatever reason the replacement doesn’t come to focus at 25yds either. Other then that its and outstanding value!

I noticed the same thing when comparing the SH4 and the SH4J. There is a big difference between the two scopes. The J model with Japanese glass is clearer and brighter on all zoom levels. Getting the SH J models with Japaneses glass is definitely worth the extra cost.
