You are all invited to attend the 2014 Arkansas Squirrel Hunt to be held October 10,11, and 12 on the Henry Gray/Hurricane Lake Wildlife Management Area at the White River Campground. HG/HL is located between Augusta and Bald Knob, Arkansas and has over 17,000 acres of prime Arkansas bottom land filled with Hickories and Oaks. Several lakes, creeks and rivers also provide opportunities for
fishing.
Things you need to know:
1. Arkansas five day small game licenses are $55 and $80 for the yearly one. You can purchase them here:
http://www.agfc.com/licenses/Pages/L...ntingFees.aspx
2. You will also need a Sweet Sixteen permitt. They can be gotten free of charge here:
http://www.agfc.com/hunting/Pages/HuntingSweet16.aspx
3. This is totally primitive camping, so come prepared
4. Be aware that it is Arkansas, so it might be hot or cool.
5. There will be mosquitos and snakes. Bring plenty of bug spray.
6. The surrounding area has several towns where you can buy supplies. There are also several restaurants within a ten mile or so radius.
7. HG/HL is pretty easy to get to. If you are coming by way of Bald Knob or Augusta you will travel Highway 64 and turn onto Hurricane Lake Road. This turn is about five miles East from Bald Knob. Signs clearly mark the turn.
